good episode, chiwa shines & for a bit MC does too, was surprised with her apology after beating up sakagami & company, that's some strength of character & self recognition cause it is true she is using Sakagami in a way, and ending it like this prevents future reprisals.
true, finding it really hard to like her. JOJO or no JOJO. though I get there is depth to her and a past. still....( makes me glad Im watching JOJO too so i'm not lost on the jokes ) Quote:
yeah...but at least his reputation is now shot at school he will never be able to put that down anymore. no more playboy/good boy lifestyle for him.

as someone who never read Jojo... I think the only thing that make me keep watching this anime is dere-dere Natsukawa
I've waited for this episode and never expect they will put it in episode 4 the pacing is fast! I wonder how long should I wait for another dere-dere Natsukawa moment.... oh yea! This episode confirmed Natsukawa and Chiwa's true feeling toward Eita |

Masuzu is a great character. She's a master troll and loving every minute of it.
She's the type that will throw you off and force you to understand her even if it means going through the hardest route in the game. Most of all, she knows what she is. I like that! Screw the sweetness crap we got too much of that already. When a character is bitter like this, it brings out really good development once we find out more about why she acts this way in the first place. On the same note, there needs to be more female leads like this in the future.

And a bit offtopic. The main problem of Kotoura-san is Kotoura herself. I personally just can't handle such a stupid girls as protags. And it's obvious that we won't get any romance in the show. Dropped on the ep. 2

Well a character doesn't need to be a good fighter to be badass, and Eita showed his badass side, even if it was cheesy and embarrassing. Who's better, the hero that has every bit of power to stop his opponent, but chooses to do nothing, or the one that has zero capabilities but throws everything he has to act on it?

Surely there could have been a better way of dealing with this than what he did. I actually muted and looked away until I was sure it was over.
For example, pulling a bluff. I guess he may have book-smarts, but he can't think on his feet, which is kind of useless. Act strong, pull a bluff and try to get the girl out. Not rush out like an idiot and still get beat anyway. If not that, then be mature and talk to them seriously, and if they attack you, then you can fight back. You still end up beat up anyway, only this time, you didn't act like an idiot for the world to see. For Flyingspaghettimonster's sake, why are harem leads so STUPID? lol |

Most of the people there didn't know him and won't remember him specifically. Chiwa already knew he was like that in middle school, and Sakagami is never going to talk about the day he lost a 3-on-1 fight to a chuuni's midget girlfriend. That does raise the question of how the whole school heard about it, which I suppose is either because Chiwa talked about how Eita came to save her, or someone who saw Chiwa beating Sakagami up blabbing.

They don't know he is chuu2. They just know that he played one to defend Chiwa from bullies. So Masuzu still could blackmail him. And he can't just broke up with her now without a reason cause their relationships are well known in the school.

don't forget about that "comedy skit" they pulled in ep3. Don't think many would immediately associate his stunt with chuuni.
While I questioned his goal of baiting the other guy out, it does work out in the end. Though it's still a very risky move, since they could say that it's for self defence as Eita attacked first.

This has been the first time in quite a while where I couldn't bear watching part of a episode, because the MC was making a total fool out of himself. Seriously, WTF was he thinking? Good thing Chiwa had her own motives the whole time, so she took the guy's rejection quite well (even apologized for fooling him – even though I thought that wasn't really needed, given that the guy treated her like dirt).

This, in a nutshell, is the difference in character between Chiwa and Masuzu. Chiwa, who shows immense integrity of character for apologizing, as opposed to Masuzu, who got immense pleasure from seeing Chiwa humiliated, and, no doubt, would have gone into a fit of ecstasy if Chiwa had also been beaten to a bloody pulp. Anyone who thinks Masuzu would ever apologize to Chiwa for being such a horrible, rotten, nasty person is completely delusional. Eita wasn't much better. He sure took his sweet time before he ran to Chiwa's aid. Can't say I dislike him much less than I dislike Masuzu. |

Holy crapstacks, this series just took a turn for the better. Now I'm really into it. Felt pretty bad for Chiwa, even though she wasn't into him, it was pretty damn harsh what he did to her. And now Masuzu is wet for Eita. Which makes this series about 1000x better.
The new mystery chick was in the crowd, and also put a love letter in Eita's locker. Now I'm even more stoked to see the next episode. |

Masuzu: he acts completely different than any other MC, and won't go overboard in this pretend-boyfriend business since he's not interested in any of it, therefore acts as a good tool/toy/pet for her scheme. While it's obvious that she will fall for him in the future, at the moment she's too playful to be significant. Chiwa: he dedicated his time and future for her sake. He learnt how to cook so he doesn't have to move out and can stay near her, and has a clear goal to become a top doctor so he can cure her. There's a massive amount of love coming from him and you are doubting Chiwa's feeling to Eita?
