Episode 13 was really good! Showing us some of Ai's past and how she might be over 500 years old is really interesting.

However, that dang parrot gives me the creeps.

ep 13 is the best episode so far. i loved the way enma ai's feelings were shown via the painting. so she's capable of being sad after all, if the look she had at the end was any indication. this ep also debunks my lingering hope that a client can redeem himself/herself in some way and avoid ending up in hell. and it simply sucks because i dont speak japanese and i would kill to know what's going on between those three minions. ( wanyudo, onna something and ren) anyway, the next ep will probably be another client but here's to more story development!

I second that 13 eps would have been better, especially with the Paranoia Agent - like mood.

The dog ep was really shiet, however the baseball one...yeah that guy had it coming to him.

well, it's good that they finally show how a "marked" character die, but then I guess it's a bit funny that it seems he becomes a lolicon after his deal with Ai

Anyone wants to guess how the series will end?

I would say that in the end, Hajime somehow manages to destroy the jigoku DHL and Ai is freed from her hell-sending existence that she doesn't really like.
But in case the second half isn't that slow like the first (I really hope so), I guess anything can happen

I hope Hajime and Tsugumi survive from whatever ordeal they may face in the future. I don't like the way Ai's helpers talk about Hajime.

Putting episode 14 aside for now, the preview for episode 15 were of the previous string pullers and people who went to hell. I don't understand the preview. Can anyone give us some insight?

Could it be a recap episode?

no it wont be a recap. according to the commentating, it's pretty much saying, many have gone to hell, and in ep 15, another person will be added into the list.

so technically, a usual episode can be expected, but why didn't they introduce the victim and client? maybe something unusual is gonna happen in ep 15. it shouldn't be a recap though.

Although I have only watched up to ep 7, I have notice a certain trend, although it may change as the series continues. The trend is, although the victims that get carried to hell come from all sorts, but up until ep.7 (i've yet to see more), all of the requests have all been made by female characters. Not trying to sound sexist, but is the writer trying to imply that women in general bear grudges than the male counterpart?

It is know fact that on avg, women do nurse a grudge longer then a man will carry thiers

Also if you look at society, women are also more prone to be victimize then man therefore there will be more women wanting revenge as well. Besides who would you rather watch, cute young girls being abuse or a guy

lmao.

I just love it, how an insignificate bullying at school can lead to a vengence curse, and all because of of a few simple pictures and stuff.
dammn i love it when Anime always overblow simple things so that that a small time minion spirit can crave a little pocket money while serving her sentence in Hell. LOL.

Can't wait for more.

First time posting here ^^ Got a little time on my hands lol , and i'll like to comment on one of my fav animes so far : Jigoku Shoujo ********Warning: Spoilers Below ************* (Have not figured out how to use spoiler tags (Sorry lol) Spoiler** for ep 14: Comments on Jigoku Shoujo Esp 14 ****** Warning : Spoliers !!!! Warning : Super Long post ! Warning : Countless spelling mistakes and bad grammer. *** Well , i truly enjoyed this Esp (even brought a tear to my eye lol) The show is getting better and better !! Yay I think this esp has very good story development continued from Esp 13. The theme for this week is eerie and creepy as well , casting a darken light on the "good and evil" of contempory human society. * From the recent flow of direction in the anime (i think 10 plus onwards ?) We are seeing increasing interferance from Hajime-Chan in the affairs of Emma Ai-Chan and her three cool minions. Well , we all know that Miss Ai is getting very troubled by the way many scenarios concluded (esp when "good"/"innocence" people are sent to hell) Including the "werid stupidity / alien behaviour " that seems to be rampant amongst the human race which spreads like a virus and ends with much wackyness (+ sorrow & sadness T_T) She seems to be bound by some strange and profound "Supernatural world" law of non-direct interferance (besides senting people to a "special holiday location" based on her contract ^^) Since Ai-Chan is prob immortal (and forever young ^^ yay ), so after a long time (50 years bah ?). Through some "complex" setup and manuvering , she got our man -> "The Hero Hajime" involved within this web of intrigues ^^ I loved the part in Esp 13 when the old painter said something like this to Hajime-chan -> "She (Ai-Chan) is trying to sent a message to someone , maybe it is you (Hero-Hajime) Eerie ^^ Dun't Cry Ai-Chan !! We love you !! (although you look so cute with tears in the wall painting lol) **** What is Ai Chan doing ? Prob , she is trying to provide an alternate route / alternate possibility / personal challenage (?) to her clients. Maybe she is testing if human-kind can be saved ? Or can humans save themselves ? lol (through Hero-Hajine) lol By senting a message to Kawaii Tsugumi-Chan through VMS (Visionary Messaging System) She "in-directly" gets our Hero-Hajime involved in her cases. (Is Ai-Chan exploiting some supernatural law loop hole ? Sneaky !! lol) Why choose Hajime-Chan ? Until some big secert is revealed in later Esp ... Main factors that i can see (and remember for now) 1)Hajime is a natural thick-faced & super curious busybody ^^ (Must be from his old job ^^ Ho Ho) 2)Hajime disagrees with the system he percieves that "Jigoku Shoujo" is running on. ->Stop senting people to hell for whatever werid reasons for goodness sake !! ->Revenge in whatever channel or form is bad ! There should be a workable solution somehow (besides senting people to hell lol) !! 3)Tsugumi-Chan is somehow involved ...... Hmm (Complex Parent-Child involvement issue ^^ Daddy will save you little cutie ! .... somehow lol) so here we have it folks .. our Heroic Knight in not so shinning Armor (Hero-Hajime) and his Kawaii "Vision Prophet" daughter , whom some predict to be next-in-line for the "coveted" Miss Jigoku Shoujo title !! (OH YES ... i mean OH NO !!!) (Hmm sudden thought of maybe Tsugumi-Chan's mothers death has something to do with all this ? lol) * Simple and wacky break down of Character Roles & Forces in Esp 14 =SuperNatural Side= Ai Chan (Off Duty Mode) Super Natural Power : Emma Status ?! Apparent Power: Super Kawaiiness looking creepy and sad ! Title known to human world : Miss "World" Jigoku Shoujo (is access limited only within Japan ? lol) Role: Mysterious + Kawaii Main Lead Action: 1)Looking very sad & troubled by the tragedy of humankind (T_T) 2)Quicky sents a VMS message to Tsugumi-Chan in order to get Hero-Hajime invloved ^^ Ai Chan (On-Duty Mode) Role: Death Goddess ? (Judges and sentences people to Hell) Special service - Ferry Lady (Rows them to hell herself & provides last minute chit-chat ^^) Action: 0)Maintains a very stern and impartial "mask" due to the requirments of her job ->Has to mediate in her "private swimming pool" before her job to keep her cool (and provide fan service ^^) 1)Observes humanity overall including the people involved in her current "assignment" (Free Reality TV that comes with the contract) 2)Waits for her moment to act/strike (Cool death spell pose ^^) Ai-Chan's Cool Trio Minions Powers: Different power for different job (too lazy to list them) Role/Action this Esp: 1)Provide survillance and information gathering capability to Ai-Chan. 2)Keep Ai-Chan company ^^ Ai-Chan's Granny Powers: Unknown ?! lol (something to do with spiders ?) To D&D Orient Hand book readers (if Any): DOKUFU ?! CR 19 !!! Hero-Hajime is in it , big time !!! Alignment: Always Chaotic Evil ?! (Oh Dear ..... Hajime better start praying for Tsugumi's sake ^^) Role/Action: 1)Keeps Ai-Chan in line for her job by providing engimatic & caring responses to Ai-Chan. =Human Side= Tsugumi-Chan Apparent Powers: Cuteness that even rivals Ai-Chan !! Role/Action: 0)Looking Cute !! 1)Provides Adventure Hook for Hero-Hajime this esp (aka Hajime's ticket of interferance) Poor-Girl-Of-The-Week Super Power: Super 1 Hit , far distance , confirm kill no save for a specific target. (Bought online through a special website for a take first pay hefty price later policy) Suitation: Caught up in the aftermath of her father's mistake and failure. (Gabriel Knight 1: Sins of the Father anyone ? lol)+ Sudden access to 1 hit kill super weapon. (She's armed and dangerous folks ^^) Role: To struggle and decide if she should push the red button .... i mean pull the red string ^^ Enemies: The whole town aganist her (even the old folks swt) Allies: Non , until provided through VMS by Ai-Chan -> Hero-Hajime to the resuce !!! Action: 0) Made contact with Ai-Chan , got the vodoo doll. 1) Offers Amnesty ~ Begs Mayor to admit his involvement with the death of her father. "You can still be saved at this moment if you admit your mistake !! (please!!) 2) Makes contact with her only ally (Hero-Hajime , nice smoothing voice there , but please shave next time before meeting fragile little ladies ! You need to inspire more confidence ^^ ) 3) Being reminded constanly about how much her poor father cared for her. (Flash back of her mother's funeral ,Flash back of warm conversation with her dad during dinner + bank account provided by her father for her use ) 4) Being showed uncaring hostility by the townfolks , cos she is after their "hero and supreme boss" -> the Mayor. 5) Being futher humilated by the Mayor's Son because he still thinks that she is doing all these (like her father) , including senting Hero-Hajime to contfront the mayor , for the money. 6) Made up her mind during a cool scene by the bridge. -> Her father really cares for her (no matter what he has done) -> The town folks do not matter to her anyway (Because they are too hostile ,does not care for her , and does not want to listen to her side of the story seriously ..... or she thinks they are just brainless servants of the mayor ^^) -> Wants be a filial daughter and does the only "thing" she believes possible for her daddy / revenge for her father (Besides going for Tokoyo University and living out a good life that her father wanted for her) ~ Hmm poor kiddy suitation due to screw up by adults ... duh 7) Pulls the red string anyway to provide closure to this esp (Bye bye Mr Mayor , try to be born with a good guy face next time lol ... then maybe Tsugumi-Chan might support you ^^) Mr Mayor Role: "Victim" of the Week Driving Factor: ->Belives everything he does , is for the good of the town and the old folks. ->Tries to mask the involvement of his son in "poor girl"'s dad's apparent suicide (if any) Action 0)Troubled over the "poor girl" 1)Tries to make up to "poor girl" by providing for her basic needs (?) 2)Gets to chit chat with Ai-Chan on a private cruise and becomes the latest resident in hell. Mr Mayor's Baka Son Role: To provide stiff resistance to Hero-Hajime's peacemaking efforts. Driving Factor: ->To protect his own hero -> His dad the mayor. Baka Actions 0)To bark away unwanted people around his father. 1)To unknowingly "kill off" his father by counter-acting Hero-Hajime's efforts. ->Humiliate "poor girl" in cafe scene with bribry money ^^ 2)To look very devasted , sad and shocked when his daddy went missing (with big watery eyes) Hero-Hajime Title: The Chosen One !! Role: To Counter the "Jigoku Shoujo" Martix System Powers: 1)Straight to the point "thicken face" ability 2)Good information network (through some strange old informant) 3)Smooth old man consoling voice 4)Lots of spare time on his hands Actions 1)Make contact with "Poor girl" , tries to delay the death of Mayor by peacemaking efforts. 2)Makes contact with Mayor , gets Mayor's side of the story. 3)Reports back to "Poor Girl" , trying to smooth talk sense into her. 4)Makes contact with Mayor again . gives Mayor his solution. ->Ask Mr Mayor to formerly apologize to "Poor Girl" (I LOVE THIS PART ~ !!! Goes something like this) + Touching BGM Hajime: I don't know who is right or who is wrong ... But i dare to say, The "Poor girl's" feelings are fragile (yet lovely) Your desire to protect your (baka) son is also fragile (and lovely) I as a father , admire and is envious of a daugther like "the poor girl" even more than yours (your feeling for your baka son?) (Mayor looks down cast , in deep reflection and prob is touched) (Baka son thinks all this is nonsense) (Hajime in his heart: So just admit your mistake/involvement and save yourself !! + help me overthrow the "Jigoku Shoujo" system !! + protect the poor girl's feelings and inner self) 5)Gets Mayor to agree for former apology .... but is too late T_T ======================= Many factors seem to work aganist Hero-Hajime in this esp , apart from hostile townfolks and mayor's baka son , the main draw back is timing. If Hero-Hajine manages to "smooth talk" the Mayor to apologize sometime when "poor girl" was offering her final Amnesty , the ending for this eps could be different (and herald a new arc in the show) Looks like in the near future for this show , Hero-Hajime would continue to counter the "Jigoku Shoujo" system , and maybe even succeed ..... (with sheer luck) ... risking possible action/back lash from Granny and the 3 cool minions , and maybe twising the fates of Ai-Chan and Tsugumi-Chan ....... (Heh heh) Prob the evil of the week will be less and less straightforward and blurry (like esp 12). More questions will be raised regarding the nature of "good and evil" in human terms , and regarding the "vicious cycle" ripple effect of actions taken by people (for better or worse) ->Then again , the produers might just throw in baka-suitations here and then to even out the whole mood (lol) * Great Show !!!
