Same thing: White men mostly vote Republican at national elections. Is that really something strange?

Is it more likely to be a blue or a red state?

Which is probably why so many have been against Puerto Rico becoming a state.

Just saying. I find it dumb that the article or wahtever that the person saw even mentioned the percent of a color that voted for a person.

How can we ever get rid of racism is articles like that pop up within hours of an elections results. Heck not even official complete results.

AND WTF Florida. How many fricken elections will it take where you are the butt of every joke before you get a decent counter. Seriously, lets drop Florida as a State and pick up Peurto Rico. Keep our 50 states flag that way and save money.

Blue state. PR has traditionally been Democratic.

I thought it would have been a near even mix. Hadn't known that.

Bout time. The rest of the country needs to catch up and start living by equality for all already.

Not neccesarily.

At moment when Population is calculated, they just change the electoral votes each state is worht, but keep the total 538 number the same.

So the 538 could stay the same and the states are all adjusted, or it could increase. Who knows.

How can Florida be a butt of those jokes when it looks like a giant wang?

Also, I'm not saying that was strange at all (about black voters voting democrat). It is just relevant to what Simonsy said.

Puerto Rico has a population of 3,706,690, which would put it at 29th in U.S. in term of states populations, which is about the same as Connecticut.

Puerto Rico still gets two Senators and has the population base for five Reprsentatives. The swapping from before was in a closed system. We've not added a new state since 1959. The 50 star flag is the longest lived of the flags so far.

The Census was done on Puerto Rico as well, so they have the numbers they need until 2020.

Ah that makes sense. But with 7 Electoral votes it should break the ties in the electoral college which is a good thing.

Actually, I think it looks pretty small..

But seriously, Why is it still not finished? Is it always like this? If I understand correctly it was one of the first states to start the voting..

You do understand that without the 40% white votes, Obama DOES NOT win? One sees bias when one is being one. Please drop this stupid subject all together and move forward!

Very heartfelt speech by Romney. I hope his message of coming together to help this president doesn't go astray. There is a lot of things that needs to be done before USA can emerge from the lingering shadow of its own creation.

I honestly felt it was incredibly insincere. No emotion. McCain had much more emotion in his defeat.

I realize that. Heh, that isn't what I was saying. What I was getting at is that I thought that that number would be higher than 40%.

to be fair, McCain had days to prepare his concession speech, Romney had to write his in the car during the ride to the speech
