However, I guess the underlying theme is that humans will always win/destroy, so eventually, the Parasytes will lose out. They might end up going into seclusion, where you only hear myths about them, like Bigfoot or the Yeti.
I suspect most of them will be wiped out. Going just on what we've seen being able to pragmatically control their blood lust for humans is a rare trait amongst parasytes.

The only reason the parasytes in Shinichi's neighborhood were so coordinated was due to Reiko's influence.

As time goes on screening methods such as x-raying the heads of public employees with or without their consent will only become more widespread.

The most adaptable of the Reiko-class parasytes will either forcibly adopt a human diet or will be very discrete in choosing what humans to consume.

Either way I don't suspect there will even be much in the way of rumors. Media control and threats against eye-witnesses will keep that at bay. So much so that anyone who comes forward would just look like a looney.

Ironically enough the remnants of an invasive species whose apparent purpose was to 'thin the human herd' will end up becoming human for all intents and purposes.

I hope Shinichi stays in contact with the old woman.

It was an okay episode.

I still felt the whole indecision to kill gotou was a bit hamfisted with its "heres the theme on a silver platter"
also, what was that weird powerup lmao

And looks like gotou's arrogance led to his downfall. He was so slow but i suppose that's fine.

yay Migi.
badass entrance.

I actually thought Shinichi was going to let the thing live, but glad he didn't.

Migi's back! Even before he came back it was nice that Shinchi was able to deal quite a blow to Goto. Even if they debated it a few times it really was better to go back and kill Goto. They let him recover he just continues killing or could come back for revenge.

Now curious to see how they will address the parastyte problem worldwide.

God, Shinichi pisses me off sometimes. I've always hated these weak willed characters.

Shinichi's epiphany and Hirokawa's rant really does bring the environmentalist angle to the forefront. Not sure how much I like it but it's there regardless. Migi being able to disrupt Gotou that much and instantly reconnect with his minuscule remainder of cells though..

Well only one loose thread to settle now. How is Uragami going to settle the finale for Parasyte?

For some reason, some parts of this week's episode reminds me of Shingeki no Kyojin, such as Shinichi aiming for Gotou's nape and Migi's triumphant return (with sparks flying out of Shinichi's right hand).

Anyways, a great and intense penultimate episode. Now then, I wonder what's gonna happen to Uragami for next week's finale?

What are you talking about? He decided to fight an invincible creature despite knowing he had 0 chance of winning. If that is weak will then I don't know what to say.

Oddly Gotou's form did kinda remind me of the titans so I definitely see the comparison.

I figured Migi wasn't gone, was nice to get him back.

What I got from the episode's message was that if you’re someone like Shinichi, a.k.a. pretty much a normal person(and I don't mean in terms of parasite enhanced body, but in terms of just one guy without vast quantities of wealth or contacts that could potentially do something for the world in any shape or form) is simply to defend yourself & your close ones, rather than trying to play hero – whether it’s as an environmentalist or a savior of humanity. Killing Gotou off might’ve helped humanity but Shinichi did it mainly to protect himself & his close ones from harm. Of course since he's human himself his choices will generally benefit humanity as well.

At any rate, I believe:

Migi continued being the fantastic voice of rationality. Love the little bugger. That conversation between the two of them when weighing whether to kill Gotou or not, culminating in Shinichi's choice...was probably one of the most honest decisions seen in anime.

It feels like years since they've been updated, btw.

Between the most recent episodes of Kiseijuu and Death Parade, Madhouse may have had the deepest and most profound 48 hours in recent anime history.

I actually like how the writing is so 'hamfisted' in Parasyte...it's refreshing.

There's no pretentious symbolism or open-to-interpretation bullshit at all. All the plot elements, and the actions and emotions of characters are fully explained in very clear fashion. And it still manages to be pretty interesting.

Pretty faithful to the manga.

Going to miss this series but I'm glad that it got attention since it many years ago. I hope more studios adapt older manga.

Japanese are too in love with ambiguity. Parasyte is indeed very refreshing in this respect. It's too easy to show an interesting problem or raise an interesting question without committing to one particular viewpoint. Indeed one is bound to raise disagreements if they do, but I'm really glad this show didn't go that route.

Satisfied with the ending. Wasn't surprise to see Migi leave. Wasn't totally surprised that Uragami tried to ruin Izumi's life. I like the ambiguity route, parasites are probably around but theyre learning to blend in. Pretty creepy when you think about it. Good series.

This is one of the best series of the season, really good ending.
