Would we get to see more vampire chick?
what

I haven't read the manga, but the fact that she had such a central role in these two episodes, that she's featured as the main character in the promotional artwork, and the fact that she's, umm, immortal, I'd guess yeah, we will see more of her.

(Plus, from what I gather, the main theme for the manga is the love between Kuromitsu and Kuro).

Well if they keep following the manga then the answer would be...

Well the director, who did the animated adaptation of Death Note, sort of improved on the original ending.

Spoiler for Death Note:

So let's pray that the director improve on the original Kurozuka's ending too. He had shown he have this ability with Death Note.

Episode 2 was like wtf?!?! I'm not really a big fan of disjointed storytelling. Although you can tell an entertaining story despite that, like Baccano! for example, in general for me it does more to detract from a story rather than add to it.

I'm a bit puzzled by a few events that went on, hopefully they'll clear it up sooner rather than later.

Ep3 It's out in the usual spot. Can hardly wait to get the subs to figure what's going on. Very interesting towards the end. Fight scene was good but the coloring kind of threw it off.

As long as there is implied "action" involving kuromitsu, I'm fine.

Ureshii's website has posted some extensive supplementary notes on the series:

It's really worth a read!

Good to know I'm not alone in hoping they do a completely different direction then that of the manga.

Vampire historical science-fiction bloodbath romance?
Indeed, this series keeps getting better and better XD

And it is an abundance of genres rolled into one actually.

Ureshii's sub of ep1 is outstanding. An excellent translation that is slightly loose in places, but only in order to better convey the spirit of the original. And the HD version is visually out of this world. This is how the show should be seen. The SHS-YuS version is good, too, but this is great.

The episode itself may be one of the best anime episodes I have ever seen, crisp and dynamic. Of course, I've now watched it four times, so the story is a little clearer to me than it was the first time. The storyboarder and animation director are Madhouse regulars, but the writer has a resume beyond anime, and the episode director has worked for other studios:

writer: Fujioka Mio 藤岡美暢 (Requiem for the Darkness; screenwriter; playwright)
storyboard: Araki Tetsurou 荒木哲郎 (the series director, director of Death Note, and also director of several Galaxy Angel series)
episode director: Hirao Miho 平尾みほ (director of several episodes of Shugo Chara and one of Antique Bakery)
animation director: 高炅楠 (I'm not sure how to pronounce this name -- Koukyou Kusunoki?) but he/she did the same job on some episodes of NANA.

Version 1 of the Ureshii sub had a couple of minor typeface problems, but they have issued a patch to fix them. The one downside of their method of doing the OP and ED as separate files is that the ED then has some of the wrong credits in it. They have used the ED from ep2, so the credits shown are for that ep. (Checked against No Anime, No Life.)

Here is a pic from ANN of the series director, ARAKI Tetsurou, who is now 32:

Just picked this up, but I have no idea which subgroup to go with. Preference ofcourse goes to the translation.

I looked here and it seems that ShS seems to be way off compared to Ureshii and sMi. Atm I'm kind of leaning towards sMi, but I've never seen any of their work so I don't know if can trust them in finishing up.

Any advise from people who know a bit of JP, which translations seem more correct?

The SHS version has better English, but Smi's sub has much better audio.

A bit late, but I just saw episode 2, and I literally got goosebumps. What a magnificent piece of art.

IMO, her most interesting role is as Ayumi in Shion no Ou.
