Edit: i got the demo of the game but i cant get the onscripter-en-.exe to work. When i double-click on it, it asks me with what do i wanna open it with.

It might be the way i try to make it works tho. If i try again now, i see a blackboard that instantly dissapear. Then nothing.

Just to check something, if you watch the top left of the blackboard, does it change from "OnScripter" to "Higurashi no NAku Koro ni (en)" and then disappear?

If that is the case, make sure you extracted the patch into a subfolder of the demo directory. Unfortunetly, the patch isnt clever enough to find its data wherever it is, and needs to be placed nearby.

(I really should consider starting/finishing that guide I was going to make for installing the demo and patch...)

You know what? Nevermind my last post. I guess i was tired as i just realize i was clicking on Onikakushi_Day13 since it's the only .exe file in the directory (beside the game's one).

When i click on onscripter-en-20080416.dmg, it asks me what do i wanna open it with.

PS: I only extracted everything in the game folder, i'm gonna try extracting everything in a subfolder.

Edit: Actually, i'm confused and i don't even know what to do with the onscripter and the _Sonozaki_Futago-tachi__Higurashi_English_-_Onikakushi_Day13 (they seem to be the only things i can download from the link on the 1st page). When i tried to open the Onikakushi_Day13, a blackboard opened but disappeared right away so i couldn't read what it said on the top left. When i spammed it, i could see it only said the destination of the file itself.

Okay, there's your problem: the .dmg file is for Mac OS X, not Windows.

What you need to do is download the patch for the Higurashi demo: http://rapidshare.com/files/12416164...ushi_Day13.zip

Then unzip the patch file (using WinZip) to get a directory with files that include arc.nsa, nscript.dat, and onscripter-en.exe, as well as a subdirectory called WAV. Move this directory into the original Higurashi demo folder (the whole directory, not just the files - if Windows asks if you want to overwrite a file, you've done something wrong), double-click "onscripter-en.exe", and hey presto!

Let us know if you still have trouble.

Sure, what's the trouble CatQueen? Do you have the game CD or demo download already, or are you trying to download the demo? Which version of the patch are you trying to get?

I'm trying to download the demo, but since I can't read any japanese I can't get it from the link on your website. I guess the most recent patch would be what I want.

Oh, scroll down on that page, there are English directions for which links people outside Japan are allowed to use. みら〜１０ is fine, I think.

We only have the latest patch provided in the rapidshare and mediafile folders, so you don't have to worry about accidentally getting an old version. Sorry, by 'patch version' I meant the patch for the demo versus the patch for the game from the CD.

Please let us know if you have any more questions!

How do I play the...I mean watch the game...I have 1 of the parts downloaded...But I have no idea what to press.
I downloaded rar zip and downloaded one of the parts and it says:

Do I have to download something else?..Oh,and when I press oncripter-en.exe,a black windows screen comes up with a Rena icon in the right blue part,but then the screen disappears
