There, I fixed it for you..

Although, to be honest, it would also depend on which tropical paradise..! All this talk in the thread about "3rd world shenanigans" and their military training make me wonder if it's not just better to stay home sometimes now..

Indeed I mostly stay home unless I'm in Hong Kong, the sunlight around here makes me hiss out loud.

Laugh, and the world laughs with you;
Weep, and you weep alone.
For the sad old earth must borrow its mirth,
But has trouble enough of its own.
Sing, and the hills will answer;
Sigh, it is lost on the air.
The echoes bound to a joyful sound,
But shrink from voicing care.

Rejoice, and men will seek you;
Grieve, and they turn and go.
They want full measure of all your pleasure,
But they do not need your woe.
Be glad, and your friends are many;
Be sad, and you lose them all.
There are none to decline your nectared wine,
But alone you must drink life's gall.

Feast, and your halls are crowded;
Fast, and the world goes by.
Succeed and give, and it helps you live,
But no man can help you die.
There is room in the halls of pleasure
For a long and lordly train,
But one by one we must all file on
Through the narrow aisles of pain.

Words to live by

It's something from my great-grandfather (from the Russo-Japanese War). I inherited it as the princess of the family (first girl in more than five generations).

Depends. I have at least four different great uncles (those that survived the war), three direct uncles, and around fifteen or so cousins once removed. Not a single aunt of mine among them.

I have 4 direct paternal aunts, 3 of them all have at least a daughter (the youngest one seems to despise the idea of having children). All my paternal uncles baring one also have daughters. In maternal side, most of my grandmother's siblings are sisters. My mother's family is pretty much a clan of matriarchs.

Hm, I think I have like 12 aunts and like ~20-something cousins.. Or something equally ridiculous. I'm not particularly close with, say, half of them .. due to semi-awful treatment of my father when they were "refugee"ing to Canada via Vietnam. Sad note is I have zero living grandparents.. My grandmother whom I was very close with passed away when I was 10.. It's sad losing links to your past, especially when you don't appreciate them as much when you're younger..

The weather is beautiful in Toronto today! 9 degrees and sunny!

All signs point to .. maybe?

Boredom arrives quick.
Forum posts mitigate it.
I need a career.
