You don't like old style animation, but you want something like Flame of Recca? Flame of Recca (which I dug alot) is merely the dark tournament chapter of Yuyu Hakusho...If you loved Recca IMO you will worship Yuyu...I would have suggested Hunter x Hunter aswell, but it seems that show might be too long-winded for you...If you don't care about missing parts of the story just to see great action, skip to the tournament arc followed by the Spider-arc (If you don't like that, I have no words for you)...You might not like the romance though as it involves the fixation of an insane clown^^...Hitman Reborn might be to your liking but it's slow as hell for about 40 eps then it gets pretty damn good...

BTW I rank YuYu Hakusho as the number #1 shonen-fighter of all-time if that means anything...If only they still made shonen with this level of expressionism...

Yeah i dont know why i put flame of recca on the title... old animation just doesnt suit me. I meant the plot / character similarities. But since everyone is suggesting it ill give it a try =D

Not sure if you've seen this one, but there's Uchuu no Stellvia which is about a young teenage girl enrolling into a space academy and works her way up from being a klutz to a something of a genius pilot. Naturally this one has a couple of teenage romances going on, but there is a larger plotline that takes the spot light.

From what I remember the VA's were pretty good and the music was entertaining as well....I need to go find a copy for the archives...

Now that I think about, Rental Magic is one of those series too. The main character starts off as an undecisive wimp and eventually grows up to be a pretty tough dude who knows how to defend his harem. There's a pretty cute romance triangle in there as well.

the animation of it is better than any anime ...now (for me )

Im going to wait until it is almost finished to start watching it. Im watching too many animes that are still airing already.
