We get to see Yuuya's past with Leon and the gang at last. And confirmed Sharon changed beds. Also China's official declaration of war against Japan, while Russia does Covert Ops with all its man power. Otherwise a bit boring on the TSF action part, only seeing Yuuya try to run Beggars Canyon in an F-22, which is sweet enough for mechaphiles...
And points for more Top Jell expressions.

Yuuya pushing to the limits brought nothing good.
His past caught up to him... Lots of flashbacks in this episode. At least he had Cryska & Inia to make him feel a bit better. Still no Beta in sight... just dealing with the past.

Good episode, more character development and shit. I look forward to these episodes quite a lot every week
I don't think Sharon is part of the harem, unless she switches back to Yuuya at the end (which admittedly could happen, but there won't be any point since Yui and Yuuya are the OTP). Cryska has changed quite a bit since the beginning and after this episode, something feels off about Inia. It seems that she is definitely planning something. Cui's official declaration of war is great but it seems she knows more about Yuuya than meets the eye. Either that or the whole "love somebody for who they are" thing refers to a blind love she has for Yuuya. We can probably add the bar lady a.k.a. Shirley to the harem though. After all, he "owes her dinner". |

Well this episode was quite interesting despite it not being a combat one. We get to see a fair bit of Yuuya's character. Cui is still being a bitch but she does seem to be providing a catalyst for Yui to get her act together.

It is getting a bit tiring to have Cui dragged left and right as a mere plot device for the "romance" aspect of the show, where she hardly had any role past this, and definitely had so little interactions with the whole cast that make her position, claims and all quite... impertinent to say the least. At least her behaviour wasn't as exaggerated as last week, but took a turn of the ridiculously intrusive now.
It was sort of interesting to have few tidbits about Yuuya, although the series is really having hard time to keep focus with what they want to do: it is baffling at this point of a 2cour series to have segmented arcs thrown in such fashion with hardly any good continuity, along with a genre identity crisis still underway (at this point, it looks quite too similarly to soapy high school romance, than really the "daily lives of test pilots for mecha that are the last salvation for mankind" thing). And for some reason, the quality even managed to drop far more than usual: Vincent and Cryska sure had numerous facial distortions here and there, and Yuuya was quite often in a weird "perpective", making his "layer" cell obviously superposed on the rest.

However, not looking too deep into this anime makes it a lot more enjoyable. Kind of like how Code Geass R2's last five episodes went (though that was on a much grander scale) |

Help, BETA! The story refuses to move (it did go backwards a little)! And it sounds like the next episode is as dead in its track as the art!
And Chinese Miku's point of existence? Chobi could have taken her position. Another guess on why her hair is green though, but perhaps she was experimented on like the sisters. And because she was in a watery tube the whole time, mold grew in her hair thus turning it green! And the reason the sisters don't have green hair is because they care enough to dye it silver! And this explains why all three have a few screws loose in their heads! Genius!
