Prediction for the whole SaiMoe 2008 before round 1 begins
http://forums.animesuki.com/showthre...67870&page=139 Previous Picks (Recent lost is higlighted with bold) Round 1 Total Wins and Losses 70-26 http://forums.animesuki.com/showthre...53#post1916353 Round 2 Total Win and Losses 22-10 http://forums.animesuki.com/showthre...55#post1972055 Round 3 Total Win and Losses 12-4 http://forums.animesuki.com/showthre...93#post1993893 Round 4 Total Win and Losses 7-1 http://forums.animesuki.com/showthre...95#post2005295 Reaction And the Quarterfinals is over with 3 of my favorites in it. (Kagami, Nagisa, and Hinagiku) Quarterfinals QF1 - Success QF2 - Failed vote, but both of them are my favorites so just lose one of them. Good work Nagisa. QF3 - Failed vote, who cares anyway both of them not my favorite I didn't expect Vinegar Girl to be that powerful over self-proclaimed no.1 though QF4 - Success Picks for next match (Which is famous Tsundere Denial or Dango Big Forehead?) SF1 Kagami Hiiragi (Konata made her wish come true and she in the finals but Nagisa is a big troublemaker so this one won't be that easy as it looks like. Anyway even if Nagisa wins it's okay.) |

Quarter-Final Statistics
Hiiragi Kagami - 1138 (59.02%) Sakagami Tomoyo - 790 (40.98%) Kawazoe Tamaki - 891 (48.32%) Furukawa Nagisa - 953 (51.68%) Hiiragi Tsukasa - 1043 (53.85%) Ibuki Fuuko - 894 (46.15%) Chiba Kirino - 750 (44.54%) Katsura Hinagiku - 934 (55.46%) Total Votes: 1. Hiiragi Kagami - 1138 2. Hiiragi Tsukasa - 1043 3. Furukawa Nagisa - 953 4. Katsura Hinagiku - 934 Percentage of Votes: 1. Hiiragi Kagami - (59.02%) 2. Katsura Hinagiku - (55.46%) 3. Hiiragi Tsukasa - (53.85%) 4. Furukawa Nagisa - (51.68%) Comments: *Kagami is again the clear statistical favorite. Despite possible intra-KyoAni vote skewing, the numbers Kagami consistently keeps posting are damn impressive. *Hinagiku, just like in the previous round, didn't get as many votes as the other top competitors, but still got the second most decisive victory after conversion to percentages (first being Kagami in both cases). *Hina hasn't faced anyone from a major series except the weak Misao from Lucky Star. Tsukasa has beaten arguably the strongest representatives from Hayate no Gotoku! (Nagi), Aria (Akari), and Clannad (Fuuko). *Nagisa likes dango. |

Not sure if this was posted earlier, but it was just recently uploaded to youtube so I assume it hasn't.
Funny how I only discover the Final 8 MAD after the final 8 has concluded. At the 12-second mark, they show a split-second of the Animesuki forums! You can see KaneDragon's Hinagiku sig! You're famous! |

Predictions-- Kagami v Nagisa - Kagami easily. Kagami has pretty much steamrolled through both Tomoyo and Kyou, why should Nagisa be any different? Plus Kagami faces virtually zero revenge votes even this late in the game since this is the third CLANNAD character Kagamin faces in a row. Meanwhile, Nagisa may have both Nanoha StrikerS and Bamboo Blade fanbases sharpening their knives. No KyoAni hate here since both come from KyoAni. Tsukasa v Hinagiku - Tsukasa... maybe. Depends if the voters want a LS v LS final or not. Under normal circumstances, Balsamiko would steamroll past Hina. But these aren't exactly normal circumstances.

While Hinagiku hasn't gone through as many hard competitors as Tsukasa, I think its hard to predict how Hinagiku would do against Tsukasa let alone to say that she would steamroll Hina consider there isn't much Saimoe performance to gauge Hina's strength off of since she got knocked out early last year. |

So I was writing up my quarterfinal recap post and while looking back at their past performances I noticed something interesting. In the first preliminaries, Nagisa placed 1st in the relatively weak Group 19 (aside from Rena who was right behind in 2nd) with 697 votes.
What about the other 3 semifinalists? Kagami, Tsukasa and Hinagiku were all in Group 20, finishing 1st, 2nd and 3rd in order, with 996, 982 and 918 votes respectively. It doesn't mean much for prediction value as the circumstances are drastically different, but it's funny that 75% of the remaining characters were in the same group to begin with.

He's saying he'd vote for Haruhi...had a shot this year if poeple didn't consider her a joke character due to her entry from Lucky Star....
However if the god-Empress returns, so to shall St. Nagato-chi...she who slays gods.

So, for the Semifinals: Nagisa vs. Kagami: I definitely WANT Nagisa to win, and I think she should too. She has Dango Moe, quiet girl Moe, and maybe a bit of moeblob moe. Kagami to me never had any sort of moe. She's just incredibly popular. And that's why I think Kagami has this one in the bag. Tsukasa vs. Hina: I don't know much about Hina, to be honest. By her looks, she's pretty moe. However, Tsukasa was basically made to be a moe character. She had everything perfect about her. And I think that the only reason anyone would not vote for her would be if Kagami wins. Tsukasa by a landslide.
