"Be mine, Hero!"

"I refuse!!"

Kinda late for the early watchers party, huh. Gah, the meeting of Hero and Demon Queen was unexpectedly adorable! Even more than what I had seen from one of the manga adaptations. Apart from one of the 5 manga adaptations, I have not read the novel; but nobody seems to be complaining about faithfulness issues - so I assume it's a very faithful first episode.

The voice acting was top notch. Especially for the two mains. Good job ARMS, for an excellent first episode. The art for the anime actually works for me. It exceeded my expectations. The fanservice also wasn't excessive or overly blatant.

I think I can get used to Demon Queen as Demon King. A female with the title of "King" worked for me back in Accel World, why not for this? It's also a lot better than "Ruler of the Magical Kingdom"; god forbid anyone use that here.

Though I may continue to refer to her as Demon Queen out of my own precedent.

first episode is good...too bad some of the joke from the manga is not carried over to the anime and some of the exposition is different.

anyway...for being part of the ruby eye clan, (all demon is part of a clan, like what she say..)
she really didn't look like the "other" ruby eye that we know..the huge, ugly one with big teeth...no wonder the other one is cranky, he inherit all the bad part of the gene...

P.S : well..the other smaller member of the ruby eye clan is also nice...if she ever get a role...

Honestly, I enjoyed the first episode. I cannot find anything to fault with, and in my book, that is a good start. Usually the first episodes have pacing issues for me but this one, the flow from comedic to serious, was pretty good.

The headband was actually visible all along.

I can't believe I didn't notice it. It's blatant when you watch it a second time. I guess my gaze was too focused elsewhere... like her eyes.

This looks promising so far.

I particularly like how they subverted the fantasy premise that was presented, and turned it into an elaborate lecture on the economics of war. On the other hand, the characters don't seem to stand out for me, especially the hero. I'll be watching this one for the meantime in any case.

One more thing I should add is that her bouncy chest was painfully distracting while digesting all the exposition. I don't suppose they have better ways to allocate their animation budget, do they?

That was a pretty good first episode. It kept me entertained and focused the entire time. Loving the main characters as well as the plot that has been told so far.

The Demon King...er, Queen, is quite the sight for sore eyes if I do say so myself

That was a brilliant ending though with the memory thing

I also enjoy a lot of her reactions towards the hero

Well, a hardliner would have charged her to be a Succubus .

I suspect that our heroine is neither from the Demon nor Human world, given her references to other worlds. Indeed, she might be older than she looks.

My wildest theory right now is that she hails from a more advanced world, and has been sent as a mediator.

Anyway I got around to looking up the manga adapts and if this next episode goes the way I think it is it should put many peoples doubts to rest.

That's one thing from this series you have to get used to to enjoy it

I hesitated to call it a spoiler as well, which why I asked if it was one. I don't know if that's supposed to be a surprise or if it's just a quirk that will be introduced at the same time as the character (in which case, it's really no big deal).

They have different faces imo (look at the OP), but yeah, same voice actress. Misato Fukuen's range will never cease to impress me. I identified only one of those voices as hers.

I'm not very familiar with the source so I was hesitant over it being a spoiler or not but considering they outright said so (even showed the designs) at the announcement event that I watched last year and that her character page on the official site also casually mentions her multiple personalities I'm taking that as established knowledge/character setting. Had ANN covered her in their spotlight that particular detail would likely have been brought up as well.

As I already mentioned her different appearances are anime-original, which I can only assume means to the other characters she'd just be talking to herself.

Finally watched the first episode. Love it.
While it didn't use Akira Ishida's art style, the art style based on the novels is still good.
Love the voice acting between Hero and Demon Queen. (JunxAmi!)

Seeing the series in animated form was great. Also it was nice to see cameos of future characters.
Can't wait for the 2nd episode.
