I give plenty of credit to Madhouse for this adaptation generally, but that's a good point about re-ordering events. The larger issue, though, is that Togashi doesn't rely on high-octane glamour events like last week's fight - they're occasional occurrences, and that makes them even more awe-inspiring than they would be already.

Damn, what a blast!
Shame about Netero... It was nice to see Ikalgo, Killua, Palm & others together again. Gon's waiting has finally come to an end. I'm glad Komugi is ok now. Pitou was kinda frozen and scared. Youpi and Pouf's reactions were priceless. The aftermath episode was really good.

Another good episode.
If I didn't already think Gon was capable of going this dark a long time ago I might be shocked by where he's been going. That kind of personality always had the potential to go to any extreme and right now we're just seeing where it will go. Certainly shows that even with nen nuking a problem is still pretty effective. Certainly curious to see how things will unfold with the King. Certainly doesn't seem like he'll stay...charcoal, for very long and yet if he does revive somehow not really sure if anything could take him down. Even in rage mode Gon being able to beat Pitou would feel iffy. Certainly a good arc as a whole. For whatever reason not as in love with it as everyone else, but still good times.

You know in retrospect, this volume cover makes perfect sense...
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TaFoLsbIn2...310562575c.jpg Well, I never thought for a second that Meruem was dead even before reading the manga. And all I need to do to prove it is one word: Komugi. |

Pitou, having no wings, could not simply use nen to push himself in mid-air back towards the palace - he had to land first, and THEN use nen to enhance his body to run/jump back towards the palace. Theoratically, the King using Nen to power his jumps could be seen as a sort of "flying", but he would not be able to change his direction mid-air without using an external object (or in the case of pitou, his ability that cannot move from the spot). I don't recall any hunters/nen users being able to fly around using their nen alone without it being a specialized ability that allows them to do so (ie nen wings). |

We lost a great guy...
It's a shame for Netero. Looks like some are lucky to get another chance at life. Guess it's not that easy to get rid of the king. There was a lot of weirdness in the first half. He came back stronger and scarier. Pouf sure came up with a devious plan fast. Things should get really interesting from now on.

^ "Went that deep?" Get it?
I noticed a change in Gon, maybe his hatred has changed his nen as well, making him more powerful. I hope he can put up a good fight against Pitou. As for the king, I don't see anyone we know being able to take him on. Maybe his "brother" the weird tiny baby that the queen left behind can grow to become just as powerful as he is while remaining a good guy.
