(And having just watched Shinigami no Ballad ep 1, I completely agree about Saitō Chiwa...)

Someone confirm the onair info from the website
http://www.strawberrypanic.com/ 4/03 - 4/11 ... that's 6 episodes in the span of 8-9 days! This seems weird. Or maybe that's just one station. |

The cover (or placeholder) looks yummy. I, for one, think the animation is great. (Madhouse!) Yes, it does look like Marimite, but it looks to be more hardcore. I hope it's 24-26 episodes because of all the characters, but probably hoping for too much.

Well, that was disappointing...
I was expecting something classy and stylish like Maria-sama ga miteru, but this turned out to be MUCH closer to a stripped-down, badly illustrated version of Kannazuki no Miko. Yes, if yurilicious pseudocatholic schoolgirls who want to sex0r each other in public is your kind of fetish, then you'll definitely like it. But, it wasn't actually all that good. First all, it's hightly unoriginal (but, then again, what is, after "Onii-sama e"?). Secondly, the character designs are hightly simplistic and the backgrounds are almost non-existant in their sloppyness. The only character that I liked was the token "Onee-sama", Shizuma Hanazono. Her character design was beautiful, at least, and with that mass of hair she has, it didn't seem like she had a HUGE HEAD, like the rest of the cast. All in all, a big letdown, both visualy and plot-wise. If you are game for some shoujo-ai fanservice, then hop right in. Otherwise this is not really worth wasting any time on. PS: When I caught myself looking at the timer half the way through, I realized this is not a good sign in terms of plot exciting me. |

Is Strawberry Panic the next Maria-sama ga Miteru?
That is what I felt after watching the first episode. The show focusing extensively in character interactions and platonic relationships twinged with yuri overtones ever present, though the first episode did not present yuri kisses. |
