Just finished watching ep 21

Nice story, maybe the ruins made the weather cold, so the childs could prove that they could take care of the children, or its a message to the other "ruins", or to the main base, that a child of the aliens has been awoken.

Okay, I just watched 21.. and I have my own theory about the ruins and the cold snap:

Okay, so since all the infrared reflecting material is spewing out of the ruins after the children got adam out.. and since from the map they saw in the ruins, it looks like there are possibly other "points of interest" on the island... the ruins is spewing out all the stuff purposely to block the sun and make the island cold and uninhabitable. This is probably to force the kids off the island to pursue the other "points of interest" on the planet. See, if they didn't have a reason to leave the island, they would probably stay there and never unlock the "secret" of the island.

So yah, that's my theory. The cold is for a reason. Not just the seasonal change.

I just watched episode 22:

DAMN! Howard didn't die. When that avalanche swiped through Howard I was like "Yes, this bastard finally dies!", but noooo he had to live . But I've got to admit, Howard in his shocked state is quite funny. Sigh, if only stayed in that state of shock...it would've made him a lot more funnier than he is normally.

Don't you think the discovery of a whole wagon load of sweet potatoes is a bit hard to swallow? It's like "we're low on food, we must ration our food, or we could starve to death...oops we've just discovered 100 pounds potato. Problem solved." Eagerly awaiting episode 23, past of my favorite character: Kaoru. *Crosses fingers, hopes he's a murderer, hopes he's a murderer*...heh heh heh.

Oh about the cold thing. I have to agree the cold's there to drive the surivivors away from the island, and to somewhere else on the planet. The cold will eventually turn the island into a frozen tomb, devoid of life. And they have to sail away to find somewhere else livable. After all, it is uninhabited PLANET survive, not ISLAND surivive. But then again, what if there are other "ruins" in the planet that's also releasing that stuff?

I think they should have put Pague out of his misery. Would have been plenty of food for them then.

Old man Howard was pretty funny. Dead and burried Howard would be funnier, though.

Actually, I didn't think much of the potatoes... I was too amused by Howard's expressions. XD Even if he's irritating, he's a very interesting character... Meh, the show's full of clichés, but most of the viewers still love it anyhow. @_@;

So we finally found out why Kaoru "killed" Louis. Well he didn't really kill him, it was out of his hands (pun not intended). I was kind of dissappointed of the writer's explaination of Kaoru's "killing". They took the nice way out...I was hoping for something darker. We also learn more about Kaoru. Despite Kaoru's flaw(s), he's still my favorite character so far.

It's a simple plothole. I rewatched that part of episode 3.

Kaoru: We have no choice but to let her try.

They never play on it: nothing but a sincere 'Luna's got the best chance at this' delivery. Pilot history must've been a late story addition. Maybe no one knows what to do with Kaoru's past. In over your heads, writers?

But I think the explanation was good enough.

Anyways, was it just me, or did Karou say he killed "her" in a previous episode. Was that just a wesuck thing, like they were addressing the person on the card and though it was a she, or am I nuts, I have to get that ep back on my harddrive. Anyways, good ep, think Adam is going to stop the snow :P

I explained this on the website, but I'll put it here too: They didn't use any gender-specific pronouns to describe the person on the card in that episode, so I went by the picture, which looked female. As it turns out, he was just a pretty boy, but if I'd put, "I killed zir," or, "I killed hir," or, "I killed ou," you would all just have been terribly confused.

ugh :P that was his past? I'm a little...dissappointed, I thought it'd be something dramatic or at least something more than the stereotypical self-blame thing :P just a little deeper. Well :P thats that I guess.

I was a little let down by this episode too. Kaouro's past could have been better. I also hate that they recreate the scenario (which is typical) so soon. We've got 30 more episodes. They could have held off on that for a few.

GarBhaD: Speculations about the end: Everyone returns to their family except Luna, right? I figure she's gonna end up with a new family to end with. Adam, at least, and perhaps others like him.

I wasn't disappointed by this episode at all. It was about what I expected as far as the 'I killed him' explanation went, and Kaoru's history was actually pretty interesting and made him out to be super-talented which is always nice for your favourite character. I really enjoyed this episode.

The only thing that annoyed me was his running with open arms to the others at the end. Did he have a complete personality change or what, from his talking to Luna?? He was dour and a loner even before the Louis accident. Kaoru joining in a group hug is just... wrong.

I like how the characters change through the series. Kaoru softening up, and Howard being (slightly) less annoying, and....

or is it just the fact we have so much backstory given to us? Anyway, definitely waiting for more Luna backstory.

Yah... I feel the same exact way... but maybe it was just that particular scene... maybe he will be back to his normal self in the next episode...
