Kinda sad? I'm GLAD it is something outrageous and lewd and offensive.
Especially in the light of the Tokyo anime/manga lewdness ban, it comes across as something even heroic. I typically praise artistic anime like Tatami Galaxy quite a bit, but for this instance, I have to salute Panty & Stocking for standing up for the uniqueness and wild comedic portrayals only anime can deliver in regard to the world of animation right now. |

Some ideas I would like to see if they really follow up on a full scale season two:
1. Should introduce a new angel named Boxer who was one of Panty's old flames. That way you get the whole boxer and brief rivalry for Panty. Seems unlikely that only Chuck and Brief could manage the mission and I would think Garter would get some backup to help them. 2. Panty shouldn't be just left as a jigsaw puzzle pieces but rather they should bring her back (after collecting a few initial pieces) as a kind of empty shell of Panty who is basically a shell of her former self. Lack of memories, powers, personality. It would suck if the whole second season was completely devoid of Panty until the final episode. It would also make for good character development between Panty and Brief and the idea of regaining memories through the pieces can be used as a plot device to look into Panty and Stocking's past to see what happened to them, especially with Stocking. It would also spark development on Brief's part if Boxer took the chance to try and win Panty's favor while she is in a vulnerable state. The ending of season one had one major thing bugging me in that Stocking called herself a demon. But she can use Heaven-sent weapons but demons as seen with the demon sisters and Panty's weapon on the face showed that demons can't hold Heaven-sent weapons without them burning them. So Stocking can't "Literally" be a demon under these Premise. So in using this logic, the Premise's are (assuming they are true) 1. Demon's can't use heaven-sent weapons 2. Stocking can use heaven-sent weapons Conclusion: Stocking is not a demon My final comment, I thought of the perfect name for P@S mom's attack: Giga Heel Breaker!!!

Well, it is also a fact that Gainax is generally mediocre at doing Adaptations. So them doing Original series is not so much being brave as much as simply doing what they are good at. Gainax are specialists.

Yeah. Both Shikabane Hime and Hanamaru Youchien were brilliant. And I rather like how they kind of put their own spin on the adaptations to make them stand out. Just following the manga in a rote fashion isn't the only barometer of how well they adapt a work.
I actually think Studio Ghibli are much more hit and miss with the actual adaptation of something. Especially when some of them falls face flat compared to the source material. |

Anyone know what the Blu-Ray sales were like? The soundtrack is selling really well on Amazon.

"Putting their own spin" is just another way of saying they don't care or respect the author. Do you know what Gainax said about CLAMP? "We respect what they do, and they respect what we do. And to keep it that way, we will never adapt a CLAMP manga." If the anime can't stand out from adapting the source material, why adapt the source material at all? If you want your imagination to run wild, make an original show. Don't butcher someone else's baby.

^& some people like the idea of an adaptation being different then the source material. It's just opinions at the end of the day.
Anyway this is getting totally off-topic. It's not a thread to discuss Gainax.

I've got to add something. I'm the guy who posted somewhere around page 50 that I identified the Demon Sisters' SUV as a Jeep Commander. Well, it's a trifle matter, but it's been driving me nuts for about a week now that I know I'm wrong. It's not a Jeep Commander! It's a G-class Mercedes! It was so obvious, too ;_;
If someone else already noticed this, sorry for repeating your contribution. |

Then again, maybe Kadokawa just had really low expectations and decided just the necessary amount to break even and get a little bit of profit. It's actually pretty possible considering they're charging 9,000 yen for 2 episodes, which is a little bit too expensive, even considering anime's already expensive prices. |
