Elfen Lied and Air are tied for the number one spot.

The end of Wolf's Rain really choked me up too.

Now and Then, Here and There. This anime makes me sad and sick at the same time.

Probably Air or Kanon for me.
These two are tears-inducing...

I've seen a few now but I still say Elfen Lied. I am watching Air at the moment, though, so we'll see.

Some sad anime,
W -Wish-
Kimi ga Nozomu Eien
Elfen Lied
Rozen Maiden: Traumand
Evangelion
Spoiler for W -Wish-:

Spoiler for Kimi ga Nozomu Eien:

Spoiler for Elfen Lied:

Spoiler for Rozen Maiden: Traumand:

Spoiler for Evangelion:

But the saddest ending I ever watched were Green Green TV and AIR TV. Also Kanon was a very sad and beautiful anime.

Don't usually watch sad anime series, but I just finished Ayashi no Ceres which was pretty sad. And then there's Elfen Lied. This one left my sister and me crying, lol. Even so, we kept watching the last episode over and over (well, I did anyway ^^).

Surprisingly Elfen Lied has never made me cry. Just left me with a very strange feeling... Sometimes it MAKES me wasnt to cry, but I don't.

Well I've watched through the series about 6 times and I didn't cry every single time. I cried maybe 2 or 3 times. The other times I almost got to the point of crying, but I didn't.

Wow. The saddest anime I have every watched would have to be Haibane Renmei. Especially the last what 6 or 7 episodes? Yeah, I won't spoil anything, but it was pretty sad from episode 5 or 6 to the end, with what happens to several characters from middle to end. We knew as viewers it was inevitable, but its just sad how everyone else was effected by what happened. It drove me to tears.
