Well, unlike Keima's strategic planning. I can only assume Ichika's natural charm works on the girls through Keima's one tried and true technique. "Keep showing up". The pheremones kick in at some point. But each girl requires different amounts of exposure pending on the initial impression of him.

"... why are you doing this?" Rito spoke through open channel, as he swiftly danced through hail of bullets delivered by the custom Raphael unit.

"This is not a mock battle" Charles Dunois scream in response as he executed an offensive maneuver like a fierce cavalier "This is a duel, Yuuki"

"... I don't want to fight like this with person I don't have any problem with" came the retort, twenty floating unit deliver invisible suppressing barrage, stopping the Frenchman on his track. Then, Charles switched to private channel.

"... My sister, you know how much I want to protect her? How much her life is screwed by our pathetic excuse of a father?"

"... I know"

"Then you know the reason"

Rito stood for a while ignoring the subsequent attack with his superior defense, which made Charles stopped his move as well.

"Prove to me that you have the strength to protect her"

"So that is... that's the reason..." Rito smiled, however as his hazel-colored iris diluted with gold and his pupil, it changed into wrathful of an expression "YOU MISERABLE COWARD!"

Following the statement, he kicked the booster to maximum, ear shattering boom filled the arena, though the spectator can't hear it. None of the latter's counter move can work, not even the powerful revolving bunker, who is met with thick HF blade. The fast paced exchange last for few second, until Charles gave up to his fate.

The armored hedgehog rammed itself to the angel-themed unit, smashing it into the arena's insulation barrier.

"A big brother bear the responsibility to protect their younger sibling, do you even understand that? I can't replace you, neither anyone else! Your sister is for you to protect until she said otherwise, and sometimes even then"

Energy shield is drained continuously until it reached zero, due to the selective nature, both of the boys landed unharmed, Rito's hand still gripping tightly on Charles' shoulder. His awkward but sweet smile has returned, along with the gaze of acknowledgment.

"Still, I won't break my own words... I will protect her, because she is my friend, my comrade. Just like you"

"Rito..." Charles lowered his head in shame, he always think about his twin sister, borderline obsession born from hatred upon messed up childhood life.

He forgot about everything, including his own life. He has no friend, or anyone can be remotely called as such, even then, this person still accept him.

This person accept Charlotte and him for what they are.

"Thank you..."

And thus, he gave up to the lingering fatigue, resting his forehead on his friend's shoulder. A person he could trust in this cruel and unjust world.

Score one, YAY!

I would.

As much as I would think Ichika's subject to violent shenanigans, none of the cast would actually be insane enough to pull this off as a punishment, would they?
