I have heard that this anime was based off a game produced by the Alpha Company in the year 2000. Does anyone know the name of the game, what platform it was released on, and the availability of the game in the US? I am perfectly willing to buy but I dont think I can order onlion....no credit card and too lazy for money order....

The name of the game is also "GunParade March."
It was released for the original Playstation.
I have no clue of availability of this game in your country.

But, as a side note, I can give you that recently, Alpha collaborated with GAINAX to release the game "Neon Genesis Evangelion2" for the PS2.

Btw do u have to play the game to enjoy the series?

No, I don't think so. I had never played the game - or knew that it existed - and I liked the anime. Don't know if the PS game adds more [explanation and such] to the story, though.

I downloaded it off of Winny...

The game starts with you going to the school that's featured in the anime, you're led around by the teacher from the anime, and your classmates are the students... I sat through a bunch of pretty boring dialogue and then it finally let me control my character, who was promptly chased around the room by Shibamurai Mai, who kept calling me "Sonata." It freaked me out to be called this by a high school chick for some reason, so I stopped playing.

Sonata? Dats the name of the car....I was just wondering if it went more into the origin of the "brains" and the fate of humanity as in the anime, all that was never explained and the story mainly revolved around Poyayan confessing his love to Mai.

"Sonota" is a old, traditional, and an elite word used to mean "you," in replacement of "anata." In this case, Shibamura Mai says this because she comes from a fairly elite social class.

maan..curse my lack of japanese skills
it takes forever to do anything in the game because of that
