I seem to have been misinterpreted ... I don't really have any speculation or factoids on the show, I was just listing the various options that the show might form up as.
A director's cut implies a full season (with the aforementioned possible additional or changed footage). A "memories" thing like monir mentions could be much shorter. Fundamentally, they need to put out some clarifying information about just what they mean but we probably won't see that til November. I'd *like* to see a story that backfills a lot of the offscreen stuff or even tweaks the general storyline so it is better integrated than it was.... I'm trying to figure out their motivation --- Soul Link apparently tanked in the ratings and in the buzz, whereas Shuffle! generated a lot more passion (whatever one thought of the execution of the story). Going back to the same well and addressing many of the complaints (at least the valid ones) might be their solution (since this is the season of Kanon and Negima overhauls).

i'd love to see more of shuffle. maybe they can make the games "tick tack!" or "really! really!" into animes as well; that'd be awesome.
a second season would be welcoming if it does not ruin the overall image of the show (like how tsubasa chronicles season II stopped me from continuing to read its manga). |

Eh, you know, one doesn't need to get his nails pulled out, his scalp taken, cut to pieces and get roasted to know the meaning of pain I believe Kaede's arc WAS indeed powerful, but you can't compare many things with AIR

Well, lets just say that when you have survived Air/KGNE/Grave of the Fireflies you are officially more than well prepared to take on Kaede's arc (and any other thing that comes your way in terms of drama)

Seen them both as well... I still can't watch AIR again because it messes me up.
For me, though, the most heartwrenching sequence of Kaede's story is on the bridge just after Rin pulls her from the road. Yeah, its not particularly original but the VA Gotou's emoting is so compelling it just tears one up. Its the sort of acting I point to when I voice my usual crabby opinion that most of the english dub VAs can't act their way out of a paper bag compared to the originals.

original seiyuus are much better than the english seiyuus or in any other seiyuus since the way of acting the part is much more dramatic...
Yuko Goto did a very well job of playing her part... and the english dub can't top that because they don't put their hearts in their job.... imo...

I found KGNE rather dull, maybe because I was spoiled before I watched it. Plus, I had already built up hate for treacherous b***es and idiotic male leads from Shuffle, one more wasn't going to make a difference
