I'd just like a story because I always enjoyed the novels. Well before this 'new era' BS or whatever its called.
It'd be cool if they did some MP/co-op story thing. Otherwise I can deal with MP only quite easily, because... its MW, and cruising around in a Vulture again will be so much fun.

Mech sim is such a niche genre, I'm not surprised they are going F2P multiplayer online right off the bat to reintroduce the IP to as much audience as possible while keeping the development cost down. Can we really blame the developers for wanting to have a commercially successful product?
I'm hoping they manage to pull it off so in the future there would be a bigger market for this long neglected IP.

Might get the $60 pack but i want to see what mech are they giving with the Founder Mechs. If they are all smexy, i just might throw down the $120 for the elite pack.
This feels like a kickstarter program to help em with development cost.

A mech for every weight class but why the jenner? I've lost touch with the franchise but surely there would be more iconic choices for it, as well as the hunchback.
Being set in 3049 makes for a easy setup to the Clan invasion but eh who's gonna complain once all the shiny omnimechs show up.

People keep drooling over the big mechs, but what I recall from the MW3 multiplayer was hordes of Pumas running around and blowing off the knees of bigger mechs. The most common loadout for big mechs I saw was the missile salvo loadout. It basically knocks a mech down from the sheer intensity of the blast of a thousand missiles(okay, actually 120), immobilising a mech for a direct killing-blow.
All the trailers just seem... slow-paced. Cheers.

In the older mech warrior's I personally played exclusively as chicken mechs particularly variations of the Owens, I cant do heavy mechs they are just too slow and clumsy for me especially when your engaging lighter mechs at close range which can literally run rings around you while you struggle to turn quick enough to fight back.
It was definitely more exciting and faster paced when you played with a more diverse roster of weights in a single game as opposed to a heavy match that looked like it was being played in slow motion. Ahh nostalgia.... I wish I could play the MWO beta =[

My favourite is the Puma with machineguns, i used to hunt missileboat mad cats with that by sniping their cockpit. Most of the time, they have to run off when they noticed their cockpit health is red.
Osiris with full rack of SRM is my other favourite. That mech can wreck havoc in very short time but you tend to become a walking target once you ran out.

Gimme a Raven, Vulture and Marauder Mk2. Mad Cat's and Mad Cat Mk2's were pretty fun too, but that's probably nostalgia for something distinctively Mechwarrior talking.
The game is pretty fun, tried it with 5-6 friends, pulling of some pretty amusing cap's with Jenner packs or kills assist training folks (5 Jenners standing behind an atlas that didn't know we were there coping a combined alpha-barrage of 30 MLasers in the back was pretty funny, we don't always use Jenners, it was just a thing to do that night). But game is still pretty obviously in beta in places and a number of features have yet to be properly implemented. So we shall have to wait and see what the next patch brings. I'm looking forward to a proper urban map.
