Returned my Nexus S 4G due to overheating and battery issues. Canned Sprint service due to fail signal in the East Bay. Went back to T-Mobile, now have a Nexus S with AWS 3G bands.

Happy, happy.

Fresh picked Garlic from the farm up the street. I also got leeks, peppers, onions, shallots, and broccoli from them. Delicious

Did you pay more than a penny for it?

Significantly more. Now I understand why they were selling them for a penny. The NS4G is largely defective. Radio problems, CPU problems, overheating problems, crashes, bootlooping, digitizer sensitivity issues...

This past week, I got a Corsair 2x4GB DDR3 memory kit to raise the memory from 4 GB to 8 GB. Since I have a lot of programs open, especially Photoshop, Xcode and I'm planning to use virtual machines because of my change of major, I decided to upgrade my laptop. So far, it runs faster and no swapping is being used... This only costed me around $29 after rebates from Amazon. Upgrade only took 30 minutes to accomplish.

Spoiler for screenshot:

My latest purchase was a couple of games on the cheap:
  • Duke Nukem 3D for 3 bucks at gog.com
  • Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit for 6.80€ at Steam

I've got 8gb of RAM in this machine and I don't think I've ever seen it use more 60% of it and I play a lot of resource heavy games.

As for my recent purchases;

Got an Amazon Kindle 3G yesterday and have been reading the Toaru No Majutsu Index series. Pretty cool little device, I'm definitely going to be reading a lot more now. XD

Hmm no they're just the PDFs I got off Baka and they are a touch small. Nearly finished the first novel.

Even in the novel Misaka shines.

Niiice headphones! Is it really worth it to have an expensive pair?

I'm pretty stoked about checking out my local comic shop. I got Mushishi Vol. 2, 3, and 6 for standard price. Pretty excited, 6 is supposed to be super rare.
