Yuuko and MiyaMiya? I care because split votes will rape Hayate, not because I want to vote for both of them.

I dont want Vita in ISML again anyway, i dont like seeing my favs get wrecked over and over again like she did last year, its the same reason i'm not voting for Shinku, and you already know what i think of hayate, no point in going there again ~_~

If Hayate's and Vita's votes add up to equal Nagi's or Anya's votes, then you have the right to complain.

EDIT: Ahasuerus. <3 I know you want to get on IRC.

Noone ever accused you of hating Touhou Although it was the spat over Touhou that triggered it, my rant was about an issue more general, which has been bugging me for quite a while, than the specific case of Touhou.

In any case... sorry Sakuya's not my moe

I wanted to vote Yomi in Group D but... its OSAKA in OSAKA!

Gee, I should know better about the speed threads can move...

Oh, because last year, I told Minty about Patchouli (the Chinese system of 5 elements + Sun + Moon) who is also known as the "One-Week Witch".

Sun = Sun
Mon = Moon
Tues = Fire
Wed = Water
Thur = Wood
Fri = Metal
Sat = Earth

In fact, in Japan and Korea (so I assume it's true in China too), we write the days of the week as e.g. "Fire Day" if you literally translate each of the Chinese characters.

Now, Topaz is associated with the Sun. First day of the week is Sunday. Therefore, Minty wants to do Topaz first.

Yes, Patchouli Knowledge was influencing ISML even before she was elligible for it.

Welcome back, Psieye. We really missed you. About the week thing, although I understand the reason, the physic major in me twitches whenever the connection between metal and diamond is made.

My round 3 votes

A: Shihou Matsuri
B: Tsukamoto Yakumo
C: Katagiri Yuhi
D: Isayama Yomi

If you don't think it fits? Don't. All fan made stuff have to run this gauntlet; stray too much from the general direction of the character and the fan work won't be recognized by majority of the fans and it won't add much to the existence of the character. You, the fan, determine your own limits. But just as neither I nor anybody else, should determine the limit for you, neither should you nor anybody else, attempt to determine the limit for others.

I just want people to be able to vote for Yuki because they appreciate all the nuances that came out in vol 4 even though none of it is seen in anime yet. I want people to be able to vote for Matou Sakura because they like her as a whole character and not the shadow that was left in the anime even though i have not even played the F/SN game. Although I have not read the manga, I want people to be able to vote for the fullness of the Negima characters even tho the anime fails. I want people to be able to vote for/express their love for the character they have come to love and not be untruthful about their feelings of moe because they have to artificially disregard part of what makes that character moe for them. I want them to be able to do this without people breathing down their neck about it and without them breathing down the neck of others. Is that too much to ask?
That was very well written. Completely agree with you.

That's cool. I have been rather vocal about it, though. Just wanted to make sure I clarified that.

Well, now that I've made the association of Rie Tanaka meido, it's difficult to think of her any other way (which is exactly what ZUN expresses concern about... the anime VAs being seen as "official"). Maria (HnG) was in my top ten last year primarily for that reason.

If Maikaze/Touhou anime wants more credibility in my eyes, they better continue the story and give me plenty more of Sakuya.

Sa-ku-ya... I really love that name.

*ahem*

Next group:
Miyako
Chii
Misuzu
Yuno

Simple.

I actually felt Rie's Sakuya didn't quite fit Same with Marisa. Reimu, Aya and Suika felt more spot on to me tho..

I think from the response they got its likely they will continue. How soon is the question. As for Sakuya, my own feeling is Remilia might ask her to 'help investigate' and thus she gets added to the 'merry traveling band of heroines'.

Necklace periods have reverted back to the 2008 order.

This primarily promotes consistency, as the order will be familiar to those who still remember last year's contest. Reasons to change the schedule don't outweigh the ones to keep it.

Elements correlating to days of the week is a neat concept, but there is no direct correlation of a gemstone to a particular element or to a day of the week. So we won't try to make those connections here.

Plus, keeping the same order enables using last year's spreadsheet templates with ease.

I agonized over the same exact choice

But I figured that Matsuri, being more familiar to voters from last year, might get more votes than Yuuko who's pretty much a new girl.

I voted for Mats 47/63 times last year though, so I <3 her and hope she gets in... my feeling(s) for Yuuko are a bit more intense however
