Best episode so far. Big sister's speech was incredibly powerful. The plan failed because of her, but she did the right thing.

Lol the plan totally failed and Yuusha got to do nothing. Though the elder sister's speech was great. So the blue guy is a demon right? Would he not know what the Maou looks like? Who was the person talking after the ed? I thought it was the Maou, but when they showed more than one guy i thought it wasn't.

I took it to be the Light Spirit. Especially when it showed it touching the cheek of the different faces, but each one wearing the headband representing the hero.

The hero didn't get all his power from hard work. Like the knight, he gets his power from the blessing of the light spirit. And the last line how it wishes for salvation to all people.

But couldn't that also be a representative of all the past Demon Kings? The Scholar did go to greet all the demon kings of the past, so does it represent a melding of sorts? What if the Light Spirit and the Maou are one and the same?

I think it's both, kinda of like a scrapped princess/Trigun/Last exile thing thing the spirit probably is guardian from either the former earth (maybe regular earth had an accident, people had to move to a new planet etc etc) or the past earth(and this is the far far future) and maybe something happened to give rise to the demons or whatever, and since the "spirit" messed up, she has been trying to fix it for a long time. by giving the hero power, AND giving the demon queen's clan the past knowledge of human kind(or at least keeping that knowledge safe.)

I have read further in the Manga (not the novel) and they haven't touched on this. . .in fact I was kind of pissed when they had that spirit/demon queen montage of all the past "hero's" because it seems like the anime spoiled that plot thread. . .(that part was not in the manga(which is up to chap 21 now) so I was like "WTF!")

but maybe the anime/original story creators wants to point out that that thread is irrelevant and that the main focus of the story is how the main characters "get to the other side of the hill"

Fairly sure he is in the novel but i'm not sure if he shows up this early he might be a cemeo just like Female Hero (the first one in the line of heros at the end). His clan is mentioned in the Manga at least.

To be fair Female Hero is from a side story, also the manga isn't a strict adpation of the novels, and there are minor diffences between web novel and light novel versions of the story.

Funny I thought exactly the same. Though the Maou said she is a demon in a monologue once :/.
Though the Light spirit could have made sure she was born into the next heir to the demon throne or something like that. They definitely look alike.

As for the Light spirit scene I take the different heroes we have seen as possibilities. Like different dimensions or something.
Even if they just wanted to show a stereotypical hero, making them all wear almost the same clothes and look that alike is far too much.
If you wanted to show different heroes they wouldn't all look exactly like the first one.

Only reason I say its the Heroes and not Demon Kings, is because they're all wearing the same hero headband as the current hero. If they had the wearable horns, then it might be closer to the demon king side.

A crusade is nothing when we have three of the four heroes on their side, although I'm pretty sure that a full-scale war is something that Hero wanted to avoid if it would only bog down Maou's plan for change.

The Catholic Church rarely had armies strong enough to actually take over more than a small amount of land. There was the Papal States, but control past that was pretty rare, as the large Empires were just that. So, in this context, it's more like the issues with King James vs the Catholic Church than a crusade. (Which people always seem to forget ended badly and with a loss)

Without foreknowledge, and given they've tried to stick roughly to the type of interactions that would happen among the major powers, the Church will attempt to recruit 1-2 countries to depose the Winter King. (Winter Night King being the most likely to lead the attack)

However, there's 3 really important details. 1) Winter Country is food self-sufficient, so they can't just kill the supply lines and win. 2) Hero + Female Knight = 1 army. 3) Winter King controls the biggest trade route in the World.

#3 is actually the most important detail. Wars require funding. The only funding available for something like an attack on Winter Country would be via the Alliance. However, the Winter King has such a massive trump card to play on that water trade route that he can broker a very nice deal to keep the Alliance out of a War. Which means there's no money to run a war. This should be why Young Merchant was buying time. With just some time, he can probably take over much of the Alliance via control of that trade route, which lets them prevent funding for a war.

At least, that's how I'd read the situation.

Definitely one of the most powerful moments in the series. Good thing it was handled well. The speech given by Big Sister Maid was indeed very passionate and emotional and really struck a few heart strings within me. I was hoping for something more symbolic scenery, but it still ended up done pretty well.

I'm not refuting that the images were of the Heroes. I'm trying to theorize that the one watching the heroes are all former demon kings and possibly by the Light Spirit. Which, my theory is that the current Maou and the Light Spirit might be one and the same.

merchant had meet someone about something to plan while blue hero & company going with plan with having big sis go all in on it.

so old message guy appear demand red scholar so she appear (big sis on ring mask) cue the "pain" attack on "red sis" during which she mention left she went through from being a serf to losing most of her family til day when found the SAVE.

during it all good times & learning which show make her realize I AM HUMAN person speech give she still stand on it cue the people siding with her & stone'd the old message guy away.

even more showing winter king & female knight also side with "red sis" all in cue old message guy get the BOOT & all done a blue person wonder about her.

oh hero congrats big sis (yea she deserve a oscar award trophy for it) while something going on showing hero & many others.

I'm surprised the messenger didn't notice it was a double. I mean he did notice the out of place ring on her. And she was taken prisoner, so shouldn't he have taken it off.

Or maybe he just didn't care and they just wanted to show off the power of the church.
