Kaidan no Odoru is basically about these group of 3 guys that had really nothing better to do, so they decided that they would try to steal from a local shrine's Offertory Box. They eventually cracked open the lock, only to find it that it's mostly empty since not many people have been donating. They thought they would've been cursed from the day that they started trying out the combination of the lock of the Offertory Box, but nothing really happened. It was then that they came up with their own curse instead, that being "Ohone-sama no Tatari" (curse of "bone"-sama)
So first they spread it around the school they went to. First they wrote "Hone" on all the blackboards, then they dropped random pieces of bone in people's drawers or their bags and so on. Eventually people were frightened by this new curse and started to blame all sorts of things on it. Also due to people's fears, the donations at the Offertory Box has increased significatiantly, until one day they found an envelop with 50,000 yen in it, with a note that said Please Curse Tanashi Miyoko. ----------- As to if Tanashi Miyoko is indeed the same one from Higurashi, I would say not really. It's indeed that their ideals are very alike, and does share some personality traits, but it really doesn't makes sense why the Higurashi one would be going to school at Shishiboneshi at that time, or the lack of mention of her grandfather which plays a critical role in all these. My take is that they are the same characters, in the sense of a mascot character, but different worlds.

that's because 1 is pronounced "ichi" in japanese.
if you use "K" with the english prononciation and the japanese 1, you got the good prononciation for Keiichi.

/me concurs. Don't forget that our flag has a l33t shield.
Heck, it would have been understandable if you had confused it with Ireland's since only the red's shading is different... but with Mexico's? What do the younglings learn in their geography classes these days... tsk tsk |

Will we not get a ending? D: "he official Japanese websites of the Tōkai TV broadcast station and the Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni Kai murder mystery anime series have announced that Tōkai TV will preempt the early Friday morning airing of this series "due to various circumstances." School Days, which is another late-night, game-based anime series with schoolgirl characters in occasionally violent scenes like Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni Kai, was preempted after the alleged axe murder of a police sergeant by his 16-year-old daughter. Officials have not directly linked either series to the murder case."

Okay I have watched up to 15 of the new season and understand alot, but one thing bothers me.
What keeps causing the reset? Why doesn't time just go on after June 1983, with the town just dead? Obviously this is not just a retelling, but they are connected worlds, but what keeps causing the rewind? I don't mind spoilers, and if someone doesn't want to say anything here, PM me please. Thanks.

Quick answer:
Becuase there's not much to tell when the main cast is dead, is there? From the times they actually told you what happened after, ie. Himatsubushi-hen or Yakusamashi-hen, there isn't really much to tell besides the aftermath. Ooishi/Akasaka still couldn't solve the mystery, have tons of different theories, and still doesn't know what was the cause of the disaster, the truth about the 5 years worth of disappearances/deaths, nor who was the real culprit. Spoiler for Reset Issue:
