So when do episodes 23+ air?

The last Chapter (7) with episodes 23 - 26 will be in theaters August 24th. They should start on TV on September 8th - September 29th and come out on BD and DVD on October 25th.

I'd expect a trailer for Chatper 7 soonish. It is only 4 weeks away until it is in theaters and they usually show the first half (8-10 minutes) of the episode (23) the week or two before it comes out. Usually with the trailer being out a week before that...so best guess we'll have a 2 minute trailer in a week or two.

So the battle went just as summarized earlier in the thread.

It kinda felt stupid how quickly and insignificantly they killed off Ito; first he semi-leads and fails in a mutiny, gets freed during Domel's attack, ends up crashing Kodai's ship on the prison planet, then gets shot and killed just after freeing Yurisha. It felt like he was just used as a plot device for the mutiny, and for Kodai crashing on the prison planet so the Yamato could hook up with the rebel forces. (a point which was really sped over, way too much)

It seems Kato and Makoto are official now?! Or at least it seems that way; Yamamoto teases Kato on Makoto's nickname for him and when he tells her not to misunderstand, Makoto gets upset like they're official.

Yamamoto, Yurisha, and Melda are now the BFF trio of the ship, talking about boys they like. (or they tried to; they just couldn't quiet connect the flow of the discussion )
And Yamamoto has pretty much officially given up on Kodai to the point where she just gives him nothing more than a glance when they pass by each other in the ship. It makes the love triangle feel pretty stupid to have ever existed in the first place; absolutely nothing came of it.

I must say, I'm not a fan of the Damsel in Distress shtick at all, and this version with Yuki is no exception. At least her predecessor in the original series wasn't turned into a trophy for Kodai to win back. So what was the point of all that talk about her wanting Kodai to teach her how to fly a fighter? Just plot-setup for her to use a fighter to escape from Gamilas? Lame.

A man! They'll do a figure of a man?! Seemed like they'd do every female on the show and then stop because it was years later. I'm pretty sure there are some women out there that want Kodai and Shima figures, and probably a dozen more than that that want Desler and Domel.

That isn't just any man, comrade. That's fucking Captain Juno Okita. Though I can agree that there would be those who would want a figure of Kodai or Shima I think Okita deserves it well since he Yamato's iconic figure and probably the hallmark of all great anime captains. We also rarely see figures of elderly characters and I think Okita would be befitting.

So all in all, what is the likelihood they'll do remakes of the Yamato sequels or maybe even something new altogether?

I know there hasn't been any formal statement yet obviously, and I'd be a bit surprised if there was any hinting from the producers (aside from the things we've seen in the series, like White Comet Empire ships and characters that were originally in future Yamato productions and not in the original series), but what about volume sales? Since this is Yamato, it should automatically garner good sales but just how good exactly?

I could never get it straight what's considered as the minimum sales to green-light a sequel/continuation, but well over 25,000 copies for each Blu-Ray volume sounds really really good.

Getting Nana Mizuki was definately a marketing coup. They announced her as part of their music lineup just before the show started airing on TV and it was big news.

Spoiler for ch. 6:

The battle was good. Domel went like a true soldier. That matter transport thing to transfer the fighters was cool. Good thing Hoshina didn't get killed off. Niimi coming back was appreciated.

Figures they mistake Yuki for Yurisha. Lol Yabu get's stuck with the rioting prisoners even after the Yamato leaves. Even tough Ito had a change of heart in the end was glad to see him go.

Yurisha walking around in the flesh was nice. She got along great with Yamamoto and Melda.

Kodai really in turmoil. Yuki surprisingly safe even though they know she's not Yurisha. Well that does work for Deslars plans regardless. Wonder if Starsha knew it wasn't Yurisha.

Whyy stop there! The waiting will kill me. So with Iscander in sight they have to shake off Deslar's new weapon and rescue Yuki.
