I've only ever watched the first season of Shana (of which I have all 6 volumes of on licensed Region 2 DVD here in the UK) in Japanese with English subs, but from what I've heard the dubbed version is meant to be good aswell

There's a new box set coming out [referred to as the "Viridian Collection"] on September 15th (see Amazon). Does anybody know anything about this? Is there any good reason to buy it if we already have the other box set?

Note: I'm Region 1, so this might only be applicable in Region 1.

It's just a lower price reprint.

FUNimation has Shana II, the movie and the Shana S OVAs.

Edit: Transplanted to correct thread.

I almost passed out after reading that article - in a good and exciting way.

Edit: Same reason as Tokkan.

(Another series where I missed the announcement)

I was worried that they would not get the second season. Looks like I can keep the first season DVD's. Problem here is the original dubs. I wonder if they will go sub only or have a whole new dub?

FUNimation never does sub-only. And as for the original dub, I suppose they can try and talk to Ocean Studios (they haven't done this since the old school DBZ days) and have them do the dub production, getting all the original voice actors back in the process.

FUNimation usually try to get the original cast in on things they that had their original dubs produced elsewhere, like how they did that with Tenchi and Slayers.
