Beelzemon.....

Truly a great guy until the very end. He might have taken a while to get there, but he truly was a great Goddess's Warrior. Had a feeling it was going to turn out like that for the entire episode. Unless they were going to go with X7B he was expendable. So they made use of what they could in giving him an emotional death scene. The tragic link between him and Lilithmon ends here. He gave everything he had even when his body was beyond it's limit. It's just too bad since he really was one of my favorite characters in the series. There is hope if they can win and revive him, but until then they have to keep fighting on.

A difficult loss for the group. Taiki tried so hard to save Baalmon and now Beelzemon is gone. Mervamon was obviously falling for the guy and will now have to deal with that loss. Tough for Cutemon who tried hard to heal him but to no avail.

No time to rest of course since they still have a job to do.

There goes another of the injured digimon. Pretty good guys have been dropping all over the place in this second part of the series.

Good that Taiki has firmed up. It was some necessary growth for his character. It's good to be kind, but you have to have the willingness to do what it takes. They can't win after all if they hold back. Taiki had to lose friends like Beelzemon to learn this. Now he'll be ready to fight to the end.

Not a bad job winning this battle. Dracomon remains incredible useful when it comes to escaping things . Do feel sorry for Apollomon. Few will know what a good guy he was and how much he suffered. The victory was thanks to him holding back Whispered long enough for X7 to settle things.

Spoiler for Ep50:

Well here we go into the major arc against the top enemies. The darkness stone certainly is dangerous especially with that ability to steal souls. Of course it likely will also give the chance Taiki wanted to team up with Apollomon. Good luck to Kiriha to hold the fort while Taiki goes on this rescue mission.

Really we are just setting things up here. Not going to be easy to even get to their real opponent at this rate.

FlareKnight, I do agree with you that Beelzebumon went in a blaze of glory and shining light for the sake of delivering a life line to his friends.

Starting as Baalmon since way back at the beginning of the show, I had this strong feeling that the guy will turn out to be an interesting character, and my predictions were successfully delivered.

A great Kodak moment ensued when Mervamon blushed in tsundere fashion that Beelzebumon would be fine and just for the guy to get slapped by her snake arm; more so when Shoutmon comments flustered that those two make a good relationship.

Too bad that the relationship had to end abruptly with his sacrifice, having Mervamon to deal with that loss for as long as she lives, and what to say about poor Cutemon he would likely feel helpless and blame himself for not properly or realizing sooner to heal Beelzebumons' injuries.

As always, great production values and beautiful pieces of the soundtrack chosen when: 1) Yuu was worrying after starting to realize that death is as well present in the Digital World too, 2) Blastmon and Lilithmon getting their last stand as Whispered digi-Xros the two with the Darkness Loader, and 3) Beelzebumon glorious farewell to Taiki.

So, the last remaining two Head Officers of the Bagura Army are gone for good but resulting as well in the loss of Beelzebumon from Taiki's Xros Heart team.

First, it was Deckerdramon for Kiriha's Blue Flare and now was Beelzebumon.

I got this bad odd that if they follow by those statistics, then most likely in an immediate future Nene will lose one of her team's Digimon, though I hope it doesn't happen.

Luckily for Nene she has such a small group that they can't really afford to kill anyone off. Though Mervamon not being part of X7 might want to watch her back just in case . She should be ok since technically Nene is part of Xros Heart and they've already suffered their loss.

I'll say that Beelzebumon's development to this point has been one of the highlights for the series. Starting off as an enemy, gaining insight into his horrible past, dying, being reincarnated, and finally laying down his life to help his friends here. Taught Taiki a lot of important lessons like not being so focused on helping everyone you see that it leads to your own friends dying instead and that sometimes you need the will to do what it takes. He had some great moments and is a hard loss for Taiki.

Luckily for Mervamon I don't think she'll have to carry that suffering forever. It does sound like if they can get the Code Crown they can recreate the digitial world and restore those who have been lost in the process. Kiriha did mention part of his motivation now is to get that Code Crown and revive Deckerdramon.

This is the conclusion of the battle against All of the 7 Death Generals with only both DarkKnightmon and Baguramon remaining for the final war match.

I don't recall who in this thread posted about some of the previous series introducing dark themes and more grayish and murkier concepts into their storylines, which were Digimon Tamers and Digimon Savers being the most prominent examples.

However, I do also agree that the theme of death was very pronounced in both Adventure and 02, since the former we got to witness several deaths of key characters from the start to the midway to the last episodes:
- T.K.'s Angemon (but later and quickly was reborned)
- Wizardmon (his death on Adventure felt the most poignant and dramatic to me)
- Leomon
- mentioning a few others.

Then, we have 02 not only featuring key-Digimon deaths, but also showing onscreen human deaths.
- Ken recalling in his memories witnessing his elder brother, Osamu's, accidental death.
- Adventure as well gave a brief reference to Izzys' parents deaths.
- Even in Adventure mentioned other sad themes like both Matt and T.K.'s parents being divorced.

The meaning as to why I'm bringing up this stuff is that Xros Wars has as very well matured and grew, particularly since the Death Generals saga started with introducing, setting, and fleshing more gloomy, dark, and murky themes, rather than staying as a black-and-white, fantasy adventure where good triumphs over evil with no need for sacrifices.

A poignant climax was reached when Taiki finally matured in both his character and resolve that there are times and situations that call for the need to bury and shut his own heart, in order to achieve victory when his comrades survival is at the very stake. The Hell's Field mini-arc was the ripe time to fully make him to grow from his overly kind self; Taiki's overly kindness did not annoy in any way, because it got balanced with Kiriha's previous cold, calculating, war-like nature.
I give kudos to the writers for setting up two opposing natures into perfect balance with dynamism.

We got as well Yuu's full realization and repentance for his actions, particularly watching Damemon's temporal death before his eyes, evokes within him memories of his grandmother's death.

SkullKnightmon either stole a prototype-Xros Loader from Omnimon or reversed-engineered to make a Xros Loader of his own, and the result was that he gave it to Yuu.

SkullKnightmon truly's a terrifying, bastard Digimon because his attack is more intellectual and psychological. Tempering with one's psyched by tempting his unknowing victims with promises of enjoyment, dreams, or power without consequences.

So, folks I got only five more episodes remaining before the conclusion.

Minna, finally caught up with all of you guys; the last trek of the long journey, but as expected, DarkKnightmon is at he's most climatic bastard as ever.

What I found fascinating about this episode was when Taiki's soul got transported into Prison Land, and he took a good look at its surroundings. Obviously, the crew and animators invested a lot of efforts to punctuate the psychological mood of both the atmosphere and setting.

Never felt to me like a dead-end dimension, something I didn't see for a while since Digimon Tamers episode 7 when Guilmon got trapped into some sort of weird dimension within the net.

Four more episodes to go until the conclusion of Xros Wars, series one.

Hooooooooly cardgames on motorcycles that was epic. The entire episode initiates the final battle against Bugramon and DarkKnightmon, (for real this time) as Bugramon initiates the long-discussed "D5" (Dimension Delete Deadly Destruction Day... Yay for engrish) and opens a gate into the human world, where he starts wrecking stuff and turning everything and everyone into stone... except for our two previously put-on-a-bus main characters Akari and Zenjirou, who are summoned once more by Omegamon to do... something. I dunno what, all we saw was them hearing his voice telling them to come to him, but the preview clearly shows them doing something. Meanwhile Xros Heart does their best to stop Bugramon, but finds that even X7 is utterly powerless against him and even when they finally do manage to wound him, he reveals that since he has now fused with the Code Crown (oh yeah, he'd fused with the Code Crown BTW. Forgot to mention that), he has the power to reformat the entire Digital World freely and as such healing himself is a trivial matter. And then, DarkKnightmon unveils his true colors and stabs Bugramon from behind before forcing a DigiXros between the two of them... and I'm just left thinking that the next episode can't come soon enough. Damn, that was freaking intense.
Also, as a side-note, this episode abandoned the usual badass evolution-song in favor of DarkKnightmon's own deliciously evil theme-song (which was included ages ago on the Sora Mau Yuusha X5-single but has only appeared in instrumental form in the actual show before now) when he Xrosed with Bugramon at the end... Just another contributing factor to how this episode was a clear undeniable Crowning Moment of Awesome for the villains, and now I for one am really looking forward to seeing how the final showdown will unfold.

Of course first have to mention the preview. Zenjiro powering up a spirit bomb .

But yeah everything worked out alright. Though in a sense it was kind of a waste of time since nothing really changed. They gained the help of Apollomon and Olegamon for a while, but both died pretty soon after. Still not a bad thing for them to meet those guys and reaffirm their desires to revive them once they regain the Code Crown.

Compared to Beelzebumon, i prefer this ep apollomon and olegmon. It feel much more valiant with lines like "as courtesy to fellow death general, here my farewell gift ". Apollomon using his ultimate technique and tanking 5 death general is nice to watch.

Beelzebumon part is rather draggy and emotional..

Certainly having opposite views on this. Probably impacted by the fact that I wasn't ever that attached to either Death General. And really emotion is the whole thing or a death scene is just dying. The long standing bonds that Beelzebumon made was the key. Sure the sacrifices of Apollomon and Olegmon were noble, but it just felt like they were returning to their normal state of being dead anyways. There was plenty of nice symbolism like Apollomon settling things with Whispered or Olegmon helping and not trying to steal their friends, but I'd still put in terms of episode quality Beelzebumon's passing anytime. It had emotional value and had a much greater impact on Taiki's development as a character.

While it was commendable for TOEI to give both to Apollomon and Olegmon drama for their heroic actions in the 51st episode, I have to say that their developments as becoming brief members of Xros Heart United Army came a little too late.

Though we got see the end of Whispered and thus bringing another loose knot into the story getting wrapped up, I feel that the war is far from over.

To me it would had made much a difference had those two mentioned joined Xros Hearts' ranks little earlier so as to give them some substantial time watching them interacting and building a more budding relationship with Taiki and the others.

Well, nothing's completely lost, as long as Xros Heart can destroy for good both Baguramon and DarkKnightmon, purify the Code Crown, and then restore the Digital World so as to be able to revive all of the dead.

The bad side of things is that Apollomon won't get revived, because the souls of the other five Death Generals erased his while still being in Prison Land, so chances are slim to none that Apollomon will revive. Whispered said so, that having your soul erased or destroyed while trapped in Prison Land means a full death of existence.

The other five Death Generals I think as well cannot be revived either because with their data bodies and souls separated, while their data bodies were destroyed in the Digital World with their souls still trapped in Prison Land making resurrection for them another impossibility.

Out of the seven Death Generals only Olegmon definitely will be revived because his soul got back into his body and died again but still in the Digital World.

Three more episodes left, and furious because the week after this one about to come is the closure for season six, and I'm still behind the episodes.

I knew they wouldn't waste the fairly cool design they showed off for DarknessBaguramon a few months ago. It's a bit pathetic that DarkKnightmon, arguably the most antagonistic character in the show, got taken out so unceremoniously by Baguramon, who didn't do much of anything until the past few episodes.

I don't really care about what happens to the characters, but I'll still finish watching this season even if I don't tune in to the next one.
