Saki manga

Volume 2 front cover:

Genre: School life, seinen
(some size mentioned Harem and romance, but haven't seen such scenes so far)

Summary: (from MT)
Miyanaga Saki is a high school freshman who doesn’t like mahjong. Ever since she was a child, she would lose her New Year’s gift money during her family mahjong game. If she won, her parents would be upset, and if she lost, well, she lost. As a result, she’s learned to play in such a way that her score always remains plus/minus zero: not good enough to win, but not bad enough to lose. When we meet her, she’s being dragged to her school’s mahjong club by an old friend. How will a girl who hates mahjong, yet has become adept at the game as a result of her upbringing, survive in this environment?

Any1 else reading this? Search the thread but couldn't find any match result, btw.
Don't worry, i don't know how to play Mahjong as well. But whatever, it's still enjoyable to read. The art is really good also

I am interested in this one the title character is a decent player not overpowering and her rival is rather silly.`

I love this one. It's pretty much all character driven, though that's not a bad thing.

And yeah, all the mahjong terms are confusing for me too. I think I've given up on bothering to try and understand them at this point.

Also, Tacos.

Can't agree more.
Before Ep 8, we only have a taco lover, a flat chest genius and a penguin-pillow hugger. But it seems the rest of moé stereotyped casts would be appeared soon enough.

Nice an anime. So now we have anime and manga of shogi, go, and now mahjong. I wonder if there will ever be a God of Gamblers anime.

We've had a mahjong anime for a while: Akagi. Which was a lot less cute.

Scanlated up to chap 13 thanks to Null.
Saki as an anime would be great after Shion No Ou.
Saki playing Mah Jong = Shion playing Shogi.

Are the other series similar to this one, Shion no Oh and Hikaru no Go? A lighthearted board game series that doesn't go to to the seriousness of Akagi or Kaiji.

the 2nd volume has been completely scanlated...

a few comments:

* the last chapters focus for the most part on the taco girl's game.
* gotta love the comment about Nodoka: "she is tricking me with her... "
