@ Senpai - The in universe excuse is that it's only for this one event since she doesn't have her IS on hand. Essentially, he's a meat shield in case anything happens (He lampshades this and remarks he doesn't care, but he wished that they didn't lie to him that he was being her protector instead).

Type: Superheavy Assault Carrier

Taking the earlier concept to the utter extreme, Schreiend (german: screaming) Armor packet is actually a downscaled SSTO unit redesigned to be modular attachment for Igel frame.

Increasing number of hypercapacitor to ten times of normal units, the package also includes additional function.

First of all, the steady supply of energy allowing the floating laser arrays to fire at full power disregarding energy depletion problem. Second, it also carries plenty of HELIX based ammunition, allowing it to deliver a devastating barrage against multiple targets with energy shield, or even a battleship-level enemy. Finally, it also has built in anti-orbital laser gimbals, improved from the original model mounted on Prototype Igel, boasting faster recharge and higher thermal efficiency.

Its defensive feature is much improved, having enormous reinforced chassis and numerous generators in such small package allowing it to survive much harsher punishment than any I.S. frame ever created.

Finally, it has strong propulsion to back it up, even while carrying two other I.S., it still require 25% less time to reach escape velocity. Furthermore, it never lose it's trans-atmospheric capability to begin with and has required integrated system to do atmospheric insertion with relative ease.

All of those magnificent qualities is not without drawback, its maneuverability is below average, only half that of most I.S. capable to. It also presents a very huge target and thus an easy prey for numerous agile units. If anything, it could be mistaken for a hypersonic jet fighter due to the similarity in profile and spec. Finally, it has near-zero CQC capabilities, relying only on its massive gun arrays and two companion I.S. it carried on the way.

Simply put, all its qualities are mostly allow it to survive, and to do a high speed assault than arena enclosed duel or aerial dogfight.

Roughly, this is what it'll look, in regards to size comparison with other I.S.

Nope, it's specifically made so human can say "Fuck aliens, we're having this shit". The formal excuse is allowing an I.S. to carry another two unit in rapid sequence, via high velocity ballistic course. In short, it's really an armed transport in name, but assault carrier in role.

Furthermore, it's performance suck inside arena. Like an oversized mad bull, it managed to break the arena's barrier simply by slamming into it, much to the pilot's chagrin.

It however does make a good entertainment during cannonball, turning it from a marathon to a rodeo run festival. (Rito is roped to it by Tatenashi, nuff said)

Once again, it's stated that pure dogfight is NOT it's main purpose. So, no it wont channel GN Arms/METEOR/Dendrobium curbstomping other I.S. unit like a mary sue simply because it has bigger guns and propulsion. Of course, any warship unlucky enough to be caught on it's way is different story...

@zero: It doesn't have to dog fight. So long as whatever battlefield it passes resembles a Michael Bay movie by the end of one run, then it would have done its job. And that's what I commend it for

In short, it’s a powered Exoskeleton for a whole I.S. Its weaponry is in fact pretty simple; consist of various Generation 2 handheld weaponries, from simple large caliber pistol to shoulder launched weapon, though slightly improved following technology jump. What makes it revolutionary is the armored storage pod, which can materialize eight weapons at once, held by robotic arms developed from Arachne chassis. When braced to the ground and linked with Image Interface, all the weaponry can be fired at once, making Metal Wolf the one of the most devastating I.S. up to date in terms of firepower While huge, the unit wasn’t by any means slow.
