Calm down people, I appreciate the no spoiler requests mentality and I'll be back by end of June or early July to finish up volume 2. Spare me the torture of having to translate right away during summer "break", especially during the world cup. Also, I think the manga is garbage so I am genuinely shocked that anyone would show interest towards the LN after reading that.

And for the record, I technically don't really have much say over my so-called spoiler bans. Personally, I just won't respond to anything spoilerish.

wouldn't surprise me if the one he's actually in love with is Manaka because there's very little doubt he knows about what happened with Kurou and hyouka

How does any of this imply that there is a romantic interest? I mean he does know more about the situation (it isn't clear even in the later volumes the extent of his knowledge of the past) but I don't see any ties to him liking either Manaka/Hyouka.

Spoiler for My Speculation:

From what I recall it seems like Lars takes part in some sort of conspiracy by concealing the past in order for Kurou to develop and to quicken the moment where he can settle who will take over the Sword Saint position with Kurou. There's quite a few characters in on this concealed past thing so I hope they get to resolving this soon instead of hiding it for 9 volumes.

I also want to drop a quick word on my current thoughts for the series so far after reading through some of volume 8 (9 volumes total at the moment).

Spoiler for Thoughts:

The plot is pretty erratic, the romance hasn't progressed that much even with some confessions (I think/hope something decisive will happen in vol 8/9), and I guess I don't really like how everyone is on their own agenda resulting in people just popping in and out (just when will Akari actually have any relevance). Some of the "bosses" and fights have been subpar as well but perhaps I've been spoiled by campione where there is always a grand fight at the end of nearly every volume. They also leave a lot of things up in the air about Hyouka and only add in a few clues during each major battle. I still have no idea what her deal is. I guess in short I just don't see the endgame for this plotline at the moment after the craziness of vol 7. Maybe my Chinese just failed me for a few minutes but I don't even get what happened during that end/battle for the sun cult base scene in vol 7. Some deaths, a recycled boss, a confusing fight and then all of a sudden a new girl pops out of Hinako's portal like wtf Hinako summoning harem members lol. I'm pretty much only in it for the characters at the moment and some of the funny harem antics. Really like Isyuto and the Heavenly Sword (harasses Sefi like Kurou does, double the fun lol), need to bring them in more. Anyways I might even be overreacting to a certain extent, but that end of vol 7 just left a bad taste in my mouth and I just felt the need to rant a bit. Maybe I'll even see a fix by volume 9. At least I'll have 千の魔剣と盾の乙女 to cleanse my palette in the meantime.

nothing has been implied at the moment I just think lars is in love with Manaka nothing tells me that but she seems like the most logical one so far o and new update on the LN on BT

Isn't Lars weaker? He did stay in the hospital for a while after his figth despite being a strong Swordie. Or is it one of those things, where he decides to hide his power so Kurou can grow stronger?

If he hid his power against Manaka he'd be dead. He's basically a really strong normal swordie, whereas Kurou is kind of an Anti-Swordie. That said, for some reason they both piss themselves at the thought of fighting each other.

They are nearly brothers, so is normal they dont want fight each other.
I mean they knows very well their forces... and they probably are very friends coz the sword saint training hell
