I'm keeping a lookout for this. The summary alone also drew me in. :heh. Plus, I've never seen an anime about cycling yet.

Just read the manga, and I think I'll keep an eye on this one. Hope the anime can make cycling look as exciting as the manga does. XD

Premieres on TV Tokyo according to Moon Phase. Crunchyroll will very likely get it when it premieres.

Confirmed to be aired every Monday, 25:35 (1:35 a.m JST) on TV Tokyo starting October 7, replacing Kami nomi/TWGOK: Goddesses time slot.

A 3-cour series on late night time slot, it's somewhat surprising nowadays. I'm hoping the plot isn't rushed too much considering there are 29 volume of the manga at the moment and it's still ongoing.

Where did you get 3-cour info? It's not in the article.

"somewhat"?

The last late night 3 cour show I remember is death note 7 years ago!Though I imagine someone will probably find a more recent example but still I never even imagined that this could be possible.

It doesn't surprise me quite as much, because I've been astonished at how popular this series seems to be with fujoshi - they may be expecting DVD sales on a par with KuroBas. It's absolutely plastered all over Otome Road and there were acres of doujin at Comiket.

As someone who read the manga, I can say that this is a pretty straightfoward, cliched sports manga. It's great, but doesn't try anything different.

Hope they can pull off what MADHOUSE did with Hajime no Ippo: Making the anime more exciting than the manga (which, in both cases, were exciting, but the anime made it even better).

Liked what i saw from the ova. More excited about this now. Might have to start the manga now instead of waiting until the anime is over.

Is it telling that I'm a fujoshi and am excited?! I don't generally watch sports anime. Other then Free! (for obvious reasons) and some of the old Prince of Tennis, that's pretty much all of the sports anime I've seen. But with the second season of KuroBas also airing this fall I wonder how this and the other sports anime about baseball will do.

Crunchyroll rolls on and possibly hums "Bicycle Race" by Queen as they get Yowamushi Pedal.

That pleases me - I was worried no one would pick this up.

Yeah, had a brief cruise through Otome Road on a recent weekend in Tokyo, and I was pretty surprised to see such a heavy presence from this yet-to-be-aired series.

To be blunt, sports series that have a ready-made uke-seme pairing seem to be the ones that strike gold with the fujoshi audience. That may not be the author's intent, but it seems to be the golden ticket commercially.

I've got a golden ticket...now I'm going to have that song stuck in my head all day.

I'm also glad crunchyroll got this, I'm looking forward to watching it. Also with this possibly being 3 cour, I really hope it does well.

Is this series more along Cross Game or Major? Not a fan of the latter. Didn't bother reading the first page, sorry.

Neither, really. But I think closer to CG, if only a little.
