The flick is still running on most theaters, so maybe in a space of six months there should be some DVDs. Indeed, after watching it twice Friedman has given the live-action adaptation high marks (initially).

I'll not be surprised if Nozomi/TRSI decides to license this in the near future.

By the way, anybody living in-country have some luck going after the promos:

Yeah, hopefully the anime DVDs have sold well enough that they'll consider it a good investment. Not to mention that a live-action movie could reach an audience who'd never buy anime.

I managed to snarf the booklet and clear file and a poster from YJ, although it proved ridiculously expensive. But sometimes you just gotta do these things, right? It's hard to make out in the pic but the "secret episode" is titled 「Are You レディ?」 ("Are You Ready?").

What I want for Christmas is one of those tapestries they're advertising. The image is from the April 2005 cover of Cobalt and it's probably my second favourite cover illustration after April 2008's happy Touko.

Now that's awesome. But... Good God, more resources... Need extra help translating because these girls might offer some insights in the production or something.

This is the only thing I look forward to watching! At first many of my friends had negative reactions of this adaptation, but reviews have been positive. Now they all want to watch it! Hahaha!

Squeee!

The movie will be released on BD/DVD on July 29th. If I'm reading the text right, the two-disc set will include a Yumi blanket to snuggle in (祐巳のもふもふブランケット - apparently mofumofu means "fluffy").

You know you want one

Hopefully a fansub group will pick it up, or maybe it will even get licensed for English release? *crosses fingers* I'm really interested in seeing this movie.

...And it's up for pre-order:

CD Japan: Deluxe Edition - Standard Edition BD - Standard Edition DVD

Amazon: Deluxe Edition - Standard Edition BD - Standard Edition DVD

Or if you know someone in Japan you can order through the official site and get a bonus set of postcards illustrated by Hibiki Reine.

Gah, mine's been delayed somewhere between the store and the deputy service I'm using - I should have just bought it from Amazon, but I really wanted those postcards... All going well it should ship along with the Hibiki Reine goodies I hope to acquire from this weekend's Comiket.

Checked Okazu today, and Erica explained why: one of her contributors said it was hard to find the discs in stores because retailers ran out of them due to massive pre-orders (WTH? But that's astonishing!). However, the discs are still available for sale and in stock on Amazon JP.

Massive pre-orders, eh? Wow, that explains why I haven't found it anywhere yet. *sigh* If only the DVD/BD comes with English subs, I would buy it on the spot no matter the cost. Sadly, I can't speak Japanese at all (I can only understand when I hear little bits of words and phrases) and if ever I will buy either the DVD/BD, I would have to ask someone to translate it for me. >.<
