Not necessarily. It gives you the chords and the musical notes for the melody. So that can be used to play it on guitar, piano and many other instruments.

Is there any indication how many episodes each OP/ED will span? Last season it was eight or so episodes IIRC, will it follow the same rhythm this time around?

Possibly I think. Of course, I don't think we'll see any changes in the ending in terms of scenes like we did last time. The opening is an unknown in this regard as well.

normally since we have around 26 episodes this season you would have 2 different OP&ED
the S1 ending special with another kind of opening isn't normal and i think they used that as better promotion because of the long wait (and since they would have the time for it as well)

i would expect for R2 to have 2 openings and 2 endings, and perhaps a different opening for the final if they do anything special for it..
we might still get an image song as an ending, that has been used before as well =3

I could be wrong but S1 had four OPs, one being the special 24&25 one.

I had to think about it too so there is no problem. You could also say that there were three ending since they used COLORS at the end of season 1.

Still no information on a third soundtrack. Still plenty of time, and as i wait more and more new BGM material keeps on appearing in the series. I especially love the piece used in episode 06 when Lelouch was approaching Nunally. Great stuff.

Don't worry we still have the ED single first and the 1st sounddrama for R2 was anounced as well, further info on that in the drama topic

I read that somewhere that Orange Range is *not* doing a single for the ED, I could be wrong though. As for the soundtrack, I imagine it will be released somewhere around episode 12 or 13.

Actually, that was just for the TV broadcast. In the DVD version, both episodes were separated and used Mosaic Kakera as the ED.
