How much of the story could the anime adapt, assuming the usual 1-cour setup?

PS. Read some of the WN before. One thing I never understood was the story never bothered addressing how the MC ended up in Wendelin's body to start with.

At least other reincarnation titles would bother putting in some kind of excuse, like truck-kun/stabbing/divine accident/medical injury etc.

Last I heard, even in the final WN chapters the MC was still wondering why this even happened to him at all and what this meant for his future, with no further answers incoming (not even by a god/Being X/etc.). It just seemed like a rather big plot hole that could've been easily avoided with a brief explanation in the very start.

I had to put the series on-hold ever since it became all about that damn duchess from the Empire. She's seriously so damn annoying, yet appears to get more screentime than even Elize ever did within a short span of time. Even the antics of magic-kung-fu girl were better than this.

That Wendelin gets swayed so easily despite already having plenty of "experience" doesn't help either, escpacially since he has to keep that magic-strengthening effect an absolute secret and this duchess seems like anything but trustworthy in that regard... I just wish this duchess character never existed. I can't remember the last time I got so damn annoyed by a character that it almost made me drop a series that I actually quite enjoyed until now.

I think I stopped around the chapter where it was mentioned that the duchess "outplayed" Elize with politics and some kind of assassination(?) attempt happened.

Does it get better again afterward?

Yeah, regardless how dumb the world building in this world, the arc itself is fine. Wend didn't actually fully trust her from the start and he actually knew his main priority was him and his wives.

^TBH i don't know, i'm still 50/50 that blue hair man is young Alfred before change his hair color or he's new character.

According to synopsis, the story in this volume is about flashback Armstong and his younger days when meets the person who will become his friend and rival (Alfred).

IIRC there isn't chapter about Armstrong tells his past in WN so i guess it's LN original.

He's just a normal teenager boy but it seem like he's really smart, he managed to enroll in the most famous highschool in the city.

All i know the soul of MC has a magic talent while the soul of original Wendelin doesn't have anything like that.

If both of them didn't switch places, MC might be just a salary man and living with bocchi life until he dies and original Wend would never has a chance to be high ranking noble or has many wives like MC. He might end up as poor adventurer or guard keeper for the rest of his life.

Well, at least the author answered a lingering WN question.

I get the impression the ongoing LN version is very different from finished WN; just like how Shield Hero LN is rewritten to be so different from its original WN.

They find out that the original soul of Wendelin took over the body of his former self and reborn as Ichinomiya Shingo (In short, Soul swap), what's more Ichinomiya got himself a harem with two beautiful osananajimi (not a bocchi like his pervious life) Both of them are jealous each other situation lol.

zztop Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2013	Read a few chapters of the latest WN short story. Spoiler for spoiler: Wend and Eliza end up getting teleported to Shingo's original hometown. First order is getting money for food, shelter and Earth clothing, so Wend robs some local yakuza dens dressed as a "Black Knight come to punish wrongdoers". He also anonymously calls in police to raid dens, after he's taken the yakuza cash. (Wend wants to avoid suspicion of being seen as illegal foreigners, since they don't have Earth ID. Trying to pawn off their existing gold/jewels for yen might risk raising questions with the locals.) They end of staying at a love hotel, since it's the only one that doesn't ask for ID at reception.
