Kagari Shuuya found himself inside a white room where he was shown a futuristic interface to reincarnate in another world. He was given choices of race and 4 extra skills. Among the myriad race for selection, he chose to be a half-vampire, a race similar to human in appearance but has most of the advantages of a vampire with the sole weakness of Light attribute magic. But he exploited that weakness by choosing an extra skill that allows him to use Light magic. That combination somehow produced a brand new species that unites light and darkness, Seivalt. The other 3 extra skills were Language Comprehension, Chain Projection, and Growth Modifier.
With such cheaty line-ups he was transported to isekai, but the destination was a very severe place that even with his cheats it's not easy to survive, the vast underground world. He could beat most enemies, but there's no way out, there's no people, a world of loneliness. After few months surviving in that dark world, he braved himself to venture even further. There he encountered a white giant winged beast, an apostle, which instantly made holes in his body and consuming flesh. As his wounds healing he kept running until he reached an altar that enshrined a black tiger statue. The apostle caught up to him and they commenced a life and death battle. Shuuya's body was torn apart and his flesh littered the area, but then his vampiric blood went berserk and the predator changed. The apostle got her blood and soul drained and Shuuya lost his consciousness. In the silence, Shuuya's flesh and blood gathered and formed into a small cute black cat. In the distant past, it was called a Divine Beast, now it's a cute cat that will accompany Shuuya in his adventures.
Lefa - Goat loli and mentor's granddaughter. Imouto-like to Shuuya. Helme* - Water elemental and later partially dark elemental. Basically only guaranteed heroine so far, lives in Shuuya's eye. Quiche* - Green Elf C-rank adventurer shield knight woman that Shuuya rescued and killed an ancient dragon for. Vowed she likes Shuuya but can't together for what we assume is life span issues (that aren't actually issues). Has slept with Shuuya A LOT and has a decent heroine feel about her. Shuuya calls her a friend but it's much more like sex friends. Retired from adventuring Cherry* - Quiche's friend and bar waitress. Part of the Black Wing dark guild which is famous for being particularly lawless and full of freaks, and she herself got really turned on at the thought of Shuuya putting up a good fight. Known as "Thousand-Thunder Lalai" and hasn't actually met Shuuya yet. Sara* - Leader of the B-rank adventurer Crimson Tiger Storm clan and beast woman with the ability temporarily enlarge her arm and weapon for an attack. Author said that her party's girls becoming heroines is fairly unlikely. All her clan's women have a thing for Shuuya though. Lushell* - Egyptian looking mage that is particularly notable for her stun magic. Part of the Crimson Tiger team. Belize* - Elf archer part of the Crimson Tiger team. Busty and has tried to entice our protagonist a few times and somehow failed. Somehow. Eris - Mage that originally looked down on Shuuya for low rank but changed her opinion after he kinda killed a bunch of wyverns. Guild staff member, leader of some girl clan called the Eight Maidens. S rank water twin kids - Well, one of them is a girl? Want to master water magic and bought a dragon eyeball off Shuuya. Maybe not human? Probably not a heroine since twincet vibes. Worships a goddess of love or something. Fran - B-rank adventurer half-revenant woman, triple agent/spy for the White Nine, Blood Elves, and thief guild Phantom Demon Gate. Hasn't been seen since Shuuya "threatened" her to leave him alone (not that he'd actually do shit since she's pretty). Has a pet invisible hawk. Similar to classic fantasy stories with MC travels around the world meeting and having relationship with many people and girls then departing again with possibility of reuniun in the future. So like Kanna no Kanna, MC is not carrying around his harem everywhere like pets. Oh, but he's carrying his pet black cat~

Yeah, I really recommend this one.
The training segment is a bit too detailed but hey, combat mechanics.
Has a great fantasy feel to it and it's hard to tell what isn't a flag and what is.
For example, the MC hears about a princess being kidnapped, and like any normal person judges it's out of his league and decides to forget all about it.
It also has lots of flavor text for items and whatnot. I like flavor text.
The MC typically keeps to his spear, so not really. Author even described him as a spear-fanatic or something. Granted the only one that's really put up a decent fight against him in the story so far (aside from the flesh-eating demon when he couldn't fight for shit) is his mentor.
Tough enemies are hard to come by it seems. He did manage to kill an A-rank mage who's so far been the only enemy to land a hit on him, but he died immediately after because he didn't think Shuuya could survive a heavy lightning bolt to the chest.
Otherwise everything he's fought has been B-rank monster/adventurer tier and they're all basically small fries to him. Though as of the latest chapters, he is looking to join in on a legendary dragon hunt quest along with a shitton of other adventurers.
^Well, his mentor was an A-rank boukensha and he passed his godly spear skill to him. With neural acceleration he can beat an A-rank, dun think many can fight him on the same level. Ima continue reading~

The cat is a sacred beast reborn that can freely change its size from kitten size to a black panther size at the moment. It also has tentacles that can grow out of its neck with fast, strong bone swords at the ends, or it can use these tentacles to somewhat communicate with people.
It also has no trouble beating B-rank creatures or people, so it's likely A-rank strong with the potential to get S rank either over time or if the protagonist fulfills his part of the contract.
Its cuteness alone will kill you though.
Before it was reborn and was still a full sacred beast, it took on armies and shit.

^While I agree, in this series the protagonist was faced with too goddamn many options. He probably could've been any mortal thing, but it turns out there's a lot of those.
A lot of the options were story original ones too, so he couldn't just skim through and look for one he really liked. He probably could have really been a dragon if he wanted to, but he wanted to remain humanoid.

That depends on what you consider progress.
For example, a good deal of series on Narou don't even have a goal (slow-life/slice of life, harem-builder goal, live freely, 'return home lol', school life for the sake of being school life, etc) so it's hard to say if a series actually progresses like that.
On the other hand, an adventure novel's progress can simply be going places and seeing new things, although in this case there is a set goal (or milestone) and he does get closer/progress to it.
If you mean getting stronger, then yes, he slowly gets stronger as the series progresses. Hard to call strength without an end purpose progress though.
Plus the MC isn't strong in the beginning. It spends way more time showing how weak he is mentally and physically than in most recent stories, and goes on to spend a while on a training segment of him getting over those.
So while he's strong at the beginning of his journey, he's not strong at the beginning of the story.
It's clearly a story set up to be a long ride though, so it's not going to be development after development, but the author also compensates this with long daily updates.
Compared to other series that update 1 minute worth of text a week, anyway. If even that much.
Is there any kind of progress in this novel? The jurney type novels where the MC is already strong in the beginning tend to become episodic (point A, he does X then Y then Z, return to point A, he does...).

^It's funny coz it's indeed the case. Vampires are the enemy of humanity and to be killed on sight. But half-vampire can blend into the society fairly easily.

does bloodsucking causes him to make more vampires or not? ... also, can he make his own vampire horde?
