Haruhi theaters are loosely joined novel(ette)s written by Tanigawa himself, almost like official doujinshi. AFAICT they have little to do with, informative of, or affecting the canon (barely mentioned). I think they serve as seasonal pieces for the then marketing campaigns, and possibly basis for future OAV's.
Something to tie us over until the real thing comes along. Act.1 & 2 are (fan) translated. This one is Act.3 Spoiler for promo pic:

There were two special "anthology" books that were released last week as well (S Red and S Blue) which held past short stories in them. The first Haruhi Theatre was reprinted in S Blue, which may have led someone to think it was the next installment. (Sorry for my deleted post, I wanted to conduct one more search and accidentally hit the delete post button)

Spoiler for Google Translate works pretty well on Arizonan:
Spoiler for to clean it up a little with my own limited knowledge of the language:
Although, honestly, is there really any question at all as to who would be the sheriff of this ragtag posse? (I do find it humorous, that taking the trip from Japanese, to Spanish, to English, with the last trip via an internet translator, Tanigawa's writing style still shines through...)

Nah, because you get the same feeling from the official translations, which were translated much more traditionally. As different as Japanese and English grammar are, there are things that can carry through both.
