a bit worry as i think it has only 39 chapters so far...

39 mothly chapters. It's more than enough for two-cour anime. In fact 24 episodes might be not enough to cover all the material available

I started reading after I read the announcement and let me just say that I am blown away by how good this is. Giants have never been this creepy before. The systematic format of the plot and setting and the gore really reminds me of Claymore except more dramatic.

I'm definitely hoping for a 2-cour.

I feel the same, and honestly I feel like there's a really good chance we'll get an original ending since the series doesn't have any sort of "arc climax" per-se that would work as a season ending as far as my memory serves me(not to mention that even if there was one in the future it would mean plowing through all the current material and waiting a unrealistic amount of time to push out a second season while trying to maintaining hype), and if that were to happen I'd prefer the show be longer so we have a slightly better chance of getting a decent ending. Though I think with the amount of story the manga has now it could be done without going completely off the rails.

The manga already circulates like over a million copies for each volume.... from last August..

Shingeki no Kyojin : 8 volumes : 9 000 000

Add the live action movie + anime series... remember FMA went from printing 150k to 1.5 million after the anime... (peaked @ 2.1 IIRC) SnK is already at 1.12 million and that figure is probably higher by now.

Crime Edge was just confirmed for MBS' second late-night slot in April so this is now definitely going to be on Nichigo.
