@zero: Granted Igel is huge in itself, and I think you'd still be in debatable density even with PIC on.

To be precise, it's overall mass is listed as Heavy, and it CAN float, just require small thruster to do so. As you said before, a contact-type surface combatant (wheel, skating) require some weight to increase grip. In case of surfing, the PIC is left to work near maximum but still leaving few kilogram to keep the buoyancy form throwing the unit off balance

Though it is plausible that the Igel can float so long as you are lower than 1 metric ton per cubic meter density

While it doesn't allow subsonic cruise like hover or flying I.S. can, it could still go over 270 mph just fine in most combat condition, up to 420 mph but that's plain suicidal.

If you want to compare, think the difference between a surfer and thrown pebble. Both of them float in a sense, but the other just tumbling around almost uncontrollably because the latter is too fast.

(Of course it's irrelevant after Schreiend Package available, now it can float midair by thruster and aerodynamic almost indefinitely)

A surfer has no means of self propulsion at all. He is completely reliant on sea currents. A thrown pebble is basically a projectile so it has no means of self propulsion either.

Just saying that sea-faring will probably be better if you don't use a boat type. It makes for a useful safety feature in case full flight capability has been disabled but you can't really expect to hit speeds that flying IS can due to water drag.

Rather than an actual boat that drags itself over the ocean, maybe you're referring to something like a swamp rover or hoverboat. Makes contact with the water but only on a surface level while in motion so as to minimize water drag.

Then again rethinking it, the density required to practically float over the water has to be veeery low compared to water. Practically air light. So battleship is the only way I can imagine the Igel.

It's mostly used in small segment during the sea-faring combat maneuver demonstration. Cecilia teased if Igel can join at all, then Rito said there's no problem if it's within 400 kph region.

The process is harsh after all....

Getting into ISA is tough.... it's like a middle-school fresh graduate taking an exam to an university (Because they need you to understand the basic technical term for the IS thingy)

and even if you are smart enough, you still need to have at least rank D syn-rate with IS.....

Edit: To be a rep candidate, you need to be lucky and you need to be skilled enough to be scouted out.

Male OC just go in with only the merit of being male IS pilot......

Reversed Gender discrimination too much?
