I've noticed that the artist likes to draw Fate with just barely more squinted eyes (dunno how to better describe that) than the rest, kind of like Tomoe Mami.

I wonder if his intention is to raise her sex appeal by giving her "sexy" eyes? If so, I think he succeeded, heh.

Edit: Or maybe it's just an effect of her having tsurime eyes rather than tareme...

Fate's always had slightly more squinted eyes than the rest. Original intent was probably to make them those "sad eyes" Nanoha refers to in S1, but then the characters popularity shot through the roof and they figured "why change it?"

Smaller eyes usually mean more experience/maturity/age in a character and Fate has always had more darkness within her than the rest of the cast. That ages people.

Back in the early days of Vivid people kept saying how Fate in that art style constantly looks stoned.

Can't say I disagree. Face wise I've always prefered Force's art, though sometimes the proportions of the bodies are off... We need Force faces on Vivid bodies!

Because to be honest? That bill is a travesty, and shouldn't exist in the first place, but I really liked Yabuki's story telling a whole lot more before he got permission and all the artistic motivation to go bat**** crazy over the pages.

Oh, and that new ViViD picture looks like everyone has /just/ started getting high. That one moment in time before your eyes turn into pinwheels, the dancing mushrooms come from the sky, and the reptile zoo goes marching by the garden.

.....in fact, Fear and Loathing in Mid-Childa sounds like it would be not a bad fanfic after all. "We can't stop here! This is cyborg country!"
