A bit of an over analysis i think. It could be as simpler, like he ignored Shou's call because then he would have to explain the situation to her, which would include Yuki's secret past, and that the call just shook him into action, because he really does want to help.

Of course, i still have no doubts whatsoever that Utsumi and Yuki will be together in the end.

That's a good way of putting it, but I like the fact that SK mirror both Shou and Utsumi situation nicely. Both are feeling guilty for their former partners.

If Utsumi character just cut off Shou like that, it would make him a huge douche. Sk knows what she is doing.

and ya, its possible that its gonna be Yuki/Utsumi ending.

Utsumi rejected his girlfriend's call and went after Yuki because he's an idiot. No real need for a deeper meaning or explanation behind his actions.

Seiji's an immature idiot.
Yuki's a drama queen.
Shou's an abused masochist.
Risa's a weak willed clingy girl.

FFS...Yuasa and Izumi were the only characters I never felt like punching...

Yes, It could be also this way.

But even so... He ignored his girlfriend's call, to run after another girl...

That aside, Love is also mutual trust... if he thinks that Shou wouldn't understand or that she would do something to stop or to slow him... well, it's not a good thing for their relation.

Well since this is a Manga, character do come out stupid. Its like a common thing in everything, in some ways its suppose to keep me us very frustrated with the characters to try to influence us continue reading reading if they smarten up. Its how Japanese porn depicts women being gullible and incredibly stupid.

If I was in that situation, here is what I should have done. Take the call of Shou, tell her that you are worried about Yuki and give a brief detail while running. That way you solve all problems, but considering that Drama is a key point of this Manga, the author didn't do that.

Which brings me to the same point I made in the KNIM thread...lack of communication is killer in a relationship. One of the most solid bases you can ever had in a relationship is good communication between you and your partner.

I agree, its because I have great communication with my girlfriend that we seldom have fights in the 6 years we been together. At best I say we had 4 fights in the time we spent together.

Manga likes to make characters very stupid, especially in Romance. Its suppose to cause outrage over the character's action which it does, but it is too repetitive. You would think that Romance authors would try something with a little creativity, the formula isn't really broken but use to many times is why I say that. Something like Angel Beats brought originality to romance that many other series should try to bring something themselves.

yeah its probably just guilt, I was in a similar situation in the past with an ex gf so I kinda understand what he's going through. He's gonna get better but it'll take time.

In any case, even if he does have a good excuse does it really matter? The thing wouldn't happen in the first place if he didn't set a camera and accepted a ridicule bet. Even if he tried to stop it, doesn't make it feel better because you still hurt the heart of a women. I usually hear two sides of a story, but there are limits to my patience for such events. Which are these kinds of cases or dinner with my girlfriend's mother.

He approaches Yuki, taking her hand, saying he's wanted to see her, etc. But Seiji intervenes after seeing Yuki trembling. Seiji recognizes him from Christmas. He tells Tohru that it's his fault she's suffered, and he's the reason she left her hometown. Yuki is someone very important to him, so he can't just stand by. Tohru ascertains that Yuki has been talking about him, and that she hasn't read his letter [the one Seiji tore up a while back]. He then says he'll set things straight about what happened that day... This is quick-and-dirty and half from memory, so I may have screwed up the order of a couple things. But that's the gist of it.
