I've approved of this idea ever since it was first broached way back in season one. The general idea, anyway. I would have my own version of the details (though Kana brigade is intriguing...). I would say that at the current glacial pace the time in the series advances at, season 8 would be either Haruka's graduation or early in the school year after that. Hosaka at 24 would be more like...season 32. Of course, if they actually made that many seasons, they'd probably speed it up a lot.
What I'd like to see (probably not season 3 but immediately after) is Hosaka graduating from high school. The deadline approaches. Quote:
Ah, Mako-chan, the senpai at least two years older than Makoto ("Kana's Classmate", remember) who supposedly attends some other school yet shows up at Makoto's school far too often and for some reason never near Makoto... Also looks too young for her supposed age. Worshipped as a Mikuru-type? |

Yeah, where has Mako-chan been these days?
Pudding sure holds a lot of worth that I had never imagined.... They seem to be giving Haruka more dept this season, that's a plus. Hope they continue to do so, she's just as interesting as the other 2. |

I've noticed the use of the older sound effect for the "serious face" mode as well as the shift in voices to "serious mode". However it doesn't quite work the same without the extreme close-ups/realistic faces.
It is still funny, but that impact is missing. I do have to say that critics have given the title of "food animu" to the wrong show. Not Lucky Star. Minami-ke can make you hungery.

I'm not sure what's wrong with me, but I think Uchida's place has really risen in my heart this season. She has just the right amount of airheadedness, and I get something akin to a warm feeling in my heart when she comes on, like an adorable hamster except not quite... *covers face*
Fact: Touma really has a healthy appetite. The episode made me recall last season during Valentines Day, when Hosaka created some unbelievably elegant chocolate cake (sculpture included). From hand-making Soba to French cuisine to confectioneries, is there anything this man can't do??

Icecream, Sweets, Pudding... Do I detect a pattern with the Minami sisters? Yes that includes Touma.
Imagine the conflict between good and evil over those two puddings. Takeru is a life saver. Bringing enough pudding for everyone. Touma is probably thinking why can't I have a brother like that. On Natsuki, dude you have to be sensitive about girl's personal food. You can learn from Hosaka. |

This episode proves that if there is an obstacle to Haruka's love its Chiaki.
Chiaki didn't want to believe what Kana insinuates that the reason Haruka is frustrated when it comes to Natsuki Minami is because she is in love. Given he is a pudding stealer I don't think she would approve. Not to mention he is not a good cook. Unlike a certain man. (Hosaka) Though you have to be worried as Natsuki is the only boy her age Haruka interacts with outside school. He may have raised flags in their intial meeting. Accidentally landing on her bosom and being a man enough to take punishment even if underserved. (Maki's fault) Haruka was frustrated in her cooking that day because of it. With a knife. Natsuki was gentleman enough not to stare at Haruka's boobs once he was let in the Minami home. Now Natsuki is witness to a side not many see of Haruka. The Bancho side. Which is ironic as Natsuki is a reformed delinquent. Thanks most likely to Volleyball Captain Hosaka. On Hosaka's side he is indeed pasionate when it comes to Haruka but fall short as he cannot muster the courage to meet her. Haruka Minami is his muse that has propelled him to godly levels. Only that Maki one of Haruka's friends feels its her duty to protect Haruka from what she considers a disgusting man. A point for Hosaka he has made a good impression of Chiaki. But each has not made connection to this random acquintance. Each having a red string of fate connected to the dream girl and revered elder sister Haruka. As for dear Makoto... Mako-chan where art thou? Haruka Minami is his dream girl but is kicked out because of Chiaki's jealousy. He had to take a new persona thanks to Kana Minami in order to come in contact to Haruka. Only a few know his secret among them Uchida and Touma. But Yoshino may know as well and may not be that innocent as she could be the Hayami of their generation. Will Makoto come out of the closet and proclaim to Haruka he is a man? He already tried with Chiaki and got kicked for embarassing her. Probably misunderstanding it as a love confession. |

So basically they toned down the quality of the animation and now it more or less matches the manga? Interesting.
At least that also means the humor is intact. An apple a day....is better than an apple for every meal.
