Yes, it's Rush Limbaugh. This is not a real news item. There is no comparison being presented between these individuals. The state capitol is not equating Limbaugh with Mark Twain or Truman. He is simply a former-Missourian who has since become famous. Brad Pitt and Jon Hamm will also be inducted in a few years (if they are not already). Etc.

(I'm almost tempted to simply delete your post since it is obvious flame bait, but I will leave it for now. Hopefully others will see that this is not worth discussing, because it literally does not matter.)

Since its not related to an election, I'll drop this over here ... today Rush decided to divert attention from his last circus by attacking another woman today for *being* a woman. But hey, lets let the conservative journal Forbes explain it

http://www.forbes.com/sites/jeffberc...arre-she-says/

Quote:
Say you’re a conservative radio host who’s losing advertisers left and right for saying some deeply misinformed and misogynistic things about the lifestyle of a highly-educated single woman, and now you need to change the conversation. How do you do that? If you’re Rush Limbaugh, you do it by attacking a different woman on the basis of her singleness, youth and education.
The new target's crime was to publish a book on her investigative research on American eating habits, "The American Way of Eating"

Norway mass killer charged with terrorism
http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/...8260MZ20120307
Quote:
The Norwegian anti-Islam militant whose bomb attack and shooting massacre shocked this small country last summer was charged on Wednesday with terrorism and the premeditated murder of 77 people as officials prepared for a trial to start next month.
Is it me or it's taking a long time to start to trial that guy ?

Considering the scale of the event and the need to go through psychiatric examinations, I don't think the progress is particularly slow.

If it happened here, he´d probably just get 10 years (with parole at 5) and a slap on the wrist.

US Intercepts Only 1 of 3 Drug Smugglers It Tracks, Says General

"The U.S. military command covering South America intercepts only about a third
of the drug shipments and other illegal traffic that it knows about, because it and
allied nations simply lack the assets to intercept most of the suspect boats and
aircraft that their intelligence identifies, locates, and tracks."

If you live in the higher latitudes, you may get a Northern Light show over the next couple of days:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-17295337

Of course, that may be the main entertainment if the power grid, intennet, and other systems flake out. Many of our systems have evolved SINCE the last major storm and have yet to be really tested by a major storm. Currently, air flights are being modified and many comm companies are setting up alternative routes for signal flow.

So what's the worse can these solar flares cause and what should we do to prepare ourselves and our electronic equipment?

1) The worst-case scenario is that GPS fails, the power grid goes dark, airplanes fail in flight, all the astronauts fry in the ISS, and we're all playing tabletop D&D for a few weeks by candlelight. Most of the economy comes to a halt. This is unlikely.

2) MOST likely is that a few GPS satellites have a bad day, the ISS astronauts get a bit more radiation than usual, the power grid is mostly unaffected (some outages), your cellphone calls may drop more often, internet connectivity may be a bit wonky.

Outside of covering everything in tin foil - there isn't much you can do or should worry about doing. Hopefully some of us will get to see a good aurora display and none of us will be in the dark or have technical issues.

A solar flare is a good time to take off your tinfoil hats for once.
It will take care of the listening devices the gov installed there when your were sleeping.

He would end up getting shot before he kill many. They don't go lightly on the terrorists than kill on their territory. And they do have death penalty in the improbable possibility than they would take him alive.
