MechWarrior Online

http://pc.ign.com/articles/122/1224425p1.html

This brings back my childhood memory. I really love the control mechanic of the old games, and no game has come close (or anything that I know about). Really looking forward to this one.

Given that it's my first real exposure to the Mechwarrior franchise, I must say the article makes MWO sound like World of Tanks with mechs... but BETTER.

Probably the only F2P online game I'm looking forward to at the moment.

Yeah, I can't wait for it either. I loved MechWarrior.

Not to be a jerk, but isn't there already a thread for this?

You could try the old game (not in legal way ), and it's still a fun ride. I like MechWarrior for the control mostly. Now if only I could build a battle station for this game...

Good grief, I haven't played MechWarrior since.. what, MechWarrior 2? I sucked at it back the too, being the little shrimp I was. Now that I've gotten better at gaming in general, this is as good a time as any to see if my MechWarrior skills have improved too.

Try asking a mod to merge them together.

To be fair, the title of that thread would have been as misleading for new posters as it was for the OP.

Thread merger with this thread's title perhaps?

I feel that this game is going to be overshadowed by Hawken, I don't know why, but can see it happening. The last time I played a mechwarrior game was in 2000, and it was mech warrior 3. Good memories, hopefully the game's buying element is only for cosmetics.

^from videos Hawken looks more like a CoD, while MechWarrior is more like a BF

Indeedums, Hawken does look good though. I'll still take MechWarrior over it, just because I had some great times on the previous games. Also I don't like how hawken is more about the close quaters/ fast mechs.

Like I said, I will choose Mech over Hawken. As long as the paying elements arn't going to make the game pay to win

They're not selling it. It's free to play.

It was either that, or not make the game at all.
