So, later today in Japan, we may have a wonderful present from a Japanese Haruhi fan. Keep your eyes open soon for Sweet Oblivion's information since it shall be sold at the goods portion of some theatres. This is from Kyoto Cinema's website and I've circled the listing for the theme song.

Cross posting here and movie thread. Apparently Lantis didn't reveal everything in the PV video for Sweet Oblivion. There was an a capella version of the song at the end of the movie.

So, we have ourselves a confirmation of tracklisting for Sweet Oblivion! (I'm sure this is getting to be my most-used phrase now) According to the Lantis website the tracks are as follows:

1. Sweet Oblivion

2. Sweet Oblivion -sonority-

3. Sweet Oblivion -sincerity-

4. Sweet Oblivion~Dreaming of One Day

The first three tracks have credits for lyrics, composition (and arrangement for -sincerity-), and original lyrics while the fourth only has credits for composition and arrangement. So far no clue as to which is the a cappella version heard in theatres.

Maybe -sonority- is the a capella? ~Dreaming of One Day is probably a karaoke version (don't need a lyrics credit if there's no singing) and -sincerity-'s arrangement credit would imply a different backing music arrangement (no credit needed if there's no or original backing music). My guess is 1. is the one we saw in the PV, 2. is the a capellla version from the movie, 3. is a different arrangement for 1. (maybe fuller orchestra accompaniment? different instruments?), and 4. is 1. with no vocal track.

They don't because "A capella" (from the choir) is the common term and because proper language structure and communication dictates that something should be defined by what it is before it's defined by what it isn't. The latter definition is what antonyms are for.

When dealing with music you're going to here a lot of Italian terms so it pays to look them up either ahead of time or upon hearing them. Never underestimate the usefulness of the dictionary.
