Zero no Tsukaima Is based on a seinen(young men's) novel. There's already a thread for this, with the covers of the novel already posted: http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=28892 Almost every anime starting in april was already mentioned, but many of them got deleted with the old thread.

I got mislead by this: Saint Beast limited edition which was the version that got released only on DVD (meaning: OVA) http://www.wonderfarm.co.jp/contents...sb0508021.html First DVD released: 17/12/2005 Second DVD released: 18/3/2006 Whats the difference between the limited edition and the regular version (that got broadcasted on tv)? Don't ask that, I don't know

A Spirit of the Sun is being made into an anime!?
WOW. Romance of the Three Kingdoms and to a lesser extent, Dynasty Warriors fans may want to check this out...Spirit of the Sun's characters are based on characters from ROTK. This year will totally revive my interest in anime. |

Now, where on earth did they get so much budget to produce so many shows, and TV series at that? In the past decade we've had at most an OVA of Ah! My Goddess, an OVA of Canvas 2, an OVA of Tokimeki Memorial, and then now BAM! Full TV Series. I mean WTF. This couldn't all be attributed to the advent of digital animation. I just couldn't quite figure out how so much funding is put into the industry....is it an overinflation of the estimate of the industry's capilitalization by JETRO? It must be, especially if they're planning to export all of these shows. Notice most are seinen titles. So I guess they must be targeting all the international male otakus then who are working and have spending cash. But that doesn't explain all the galgame anime...surely those do not cross borders in international licensing. |
