By game you mean something of tournament kind where you get the price at the end?
Fate/Stay Night and Fate/Zero have deadly tournament going on where the winner will get their wish granted. Umineko no Naku Koro ni had a mind game between a witch and a human. Human had to prove that all the crimes commited ciuld be done by human without magic. A lot of people got killed over and over there, and in some nasty ways.

Code Geass had mind play like that.
Not sure if it will do but maybe Shiki? It is about vampires and a small village. People start to suddenly die out and epidemic is suspected at first. Eventually a hunting on each other begins.

While it is not the main point of the story, the manga Jojo's Bizarre Adventure has some very memorable examples of what you're looking for such as incredibly high stakes poker match with the heroes's souls on the line in Part 3 and probably the most epic game of rock-paper-scissors in Part 4.
The series in general is an action adventure series, unlike most of the other recommendations here, but there's a strong emphasis on tactics and clever use of power so a lot of the fights are also a battle of wits. |
