If she is joining them, she could do it at any time in the arc, before the real stuff starts.

remember that it's mostly pirates that pass by fishman island and if you have marine approval you can pass straight through the marine gates

Definitely... Since she's a princess in good standing, she can pass through and meet them wherever..
She could be standing on the dock of one of their next ports, or suddenly drop in to save them at the last moment, when everyone is tied up or something.

Ick... I personally don't like that .. but, it's just my opinion..
Everyone on the crew has to have their proper place...
And having a small crew like theirs be so badass is part of the reason the show is great... Such a tiny group able to defeat any force they come up against..

Ever thought of wadatsumi (pufferfish) joining?

he can carry the ships n stuff, across calm belt, etc

and he will be big enough to fight San Juan Wolf but not as big

the strawhats still need some more training before they can fight blackbeard i think..

The fact that BB has a giant like San Juan makes me think that the Straw Hats need one, too, but I don't want Shirahoshi to join

Why would they want a giant on the crew? Franky is way too big as it is....
It's much more impressive to see a regular or small person beat a giant.. than having a giant vs giant fight.

I've always thought it will be Robin vs San Juan.

Now that Robin can create 1000 of any body part, she can probably create 1000 of herself. Since she can combine 1000 body parts into giant versions, this theoretically means she can combine 1000 of herself and become 1000 times her own size in mass.

I'm seeing a giant Robin vs San Juan, or just giant arms and legs smacking San Juan around.

Robin's really limited in what she can do. Like her power that is.. it seems like she does the same thing over and over again.. I like her character, but I hope Oda can come up with more things for her :s..
