Youtube Musician faces 20 years in prison for clever editing

This kind of thing has been done by comics on TV all the time. But apparently, this guy ran across someone with no sense of humor or common sense.

It's a really bizarre idea for a joke, but it sickens me there are people that would put him in jail for it.

From the article: "‘but also has a provision for those who make it appear that the children were actually abused.’" - Why? Certainly, it's in bad taste to make children appear to have been abused. But why the hell is this victimless act of bad taste a crime? Just more evidence of our ridiculous moral crusade attitude in this country. Absolutely ridiculous.

It reminds me of a documentary/feature on John Stoll, a man who was thrown in prison on molestation charges. Years later, the kids that testified against him have come forward and admitted they were pressured by prosecutors to lie in court, and rehearsed lines with these 6-10 year old children that they would read in court to get John thrown in prison. On the show I watched, these now adults were crying due to guilt, and appear to be deeply disturbed by the whole incident. Thankfully he's been released but that doesn't undo all the damage done to his and those children's lives. It just makes one wonder, if in this zealous, blind charge to protect our children have our nation's lawmakers and judicial workers completely lost their grip on reality, to the point that protecting people is not important at all but appearing tough on 'criminals' is all that matters, their actual innocence be damned?

It's important to note that this kind of thing has been done many times by professional comedians.

Thanks to Slashdot for the links!

Not surprising. I couldn't picture this guy being the first. But even if he were the first ever, it wouldn't subtract much from the sheer magnitude of stupidity required to consider him a criminal.

Man, sometimes I love America. A side benefit to our growing obesity, is that our crooks are easier to catch as well!

It doesn't seem all that enthusiastic about the trip. Maybe it just wants to watch the floor show.

I can think of a Dave Chappelle skit and another youtube video which did the same thing and they didn't end up in jail

However neither of them had "i want your finger in my anus" line

\But still this law suit is ridiculous

No children were present

Looks like Iran will boycott the Olympics in 2012.

Like the article says, they are hypocrites (among other not so nice things) since they have...well, this is what the article says: "This is the same nation that's refused to send athletes to compete against Israelis for the past three decades".
