Looking for a modern no-sex Shounen Ai anime :P

Heya folks! After seeing you are quite open-minded here, I decided to make a request for an anime suggestion.

What I'm looking for is an anime that:
- features Shounen Ai
- includes a younger boy when it comes to love (meaning an age of 10 to 14)
- does NOT, by any means, include sex/porn. I DO NOT want shota-con!
- has a decent story and good characters
- has a modern drawing style (nothing from the 80's or 90's please :-d)

I hope there's somethin which at least comes close to my needs :-)

Loveless has a 12 year old catboy who has romance with a guy. I haven't seen it, but it isn't a porno. I saw some shounen ai animes while looking for new anime on RightStuf.com, and I think I remember the names of both. I think I can find out what they are. Hold on.

It has two seasons on disc. It says 17 and up for a rating, but it isn't an actual XXX yaoi porno or anything. It seems like something that aired on Japanese TV. I don't know how young that guy is there you see in the pictures, but he is probably a teen, and he looks younger than he probably is in the story. Also, that 17 and up rating might be wrong. I've noticed that RightStuf puts the wrong ratings up for animes sometimes.

There are two shounen ai animes I know of: Gravitation and Sukisho. I haven't seen them, but I know the guys aren't 10-14, they are older. Loveless is the only shounen ai anime I know of that has romance with a male in the age range you asked for. You can buy Loveless on DVD for cheap. All 12 or 13 episodes for like $15.

No.6 is an anime that is nearly exactly what you're looking for. However, the anime did try to cram a lot of novels into eleven episodes so the ending was pretty rushed. Still, it's a pretty good series and I'd recommend also reading the novels or manga.

In response to Urzu's post - Loveless is a good suggestion, but Junjou Romantica does have sex in it and the characters are all adults.

How do they handle the sex scenes? I thought it was something that was aired on Japanese TV, so they can't be pornographic, right? Are they more like something you see in a R rated Hollywood movie?

You can see them engaging in sex but they don't show the &(^**(& parts, so rest assured. I think the sex in the anime is more toned down compared to the manga, but yeah, Junjou is definitely a yaoi, though the sex part is not that hardcore. It mostly involves passionate kissing, and some bed scenes that are in no way harmful to the mind.

It is pretty difficult for shounen-ai and yaoi to secure 1 cour or even 2 cour anime adaptations, so with Junjou being 24 episodes in length, you can expect "decent story and good characters". Character development is one of Junjou's strongest point. It is not easy to find that in OVAs, because they tend to rush things.

Or you could try Uragiri wa Boku no Namae wo Shitteiru. The art is beautiful, and the story has fantasy element in it which might appeal to you, given that it is not a standard love story. This is definitely a shounen-ai. The bonds between the guys are strong, but no kissing though. I am not sure about the younger boy criterion that you are searching for, but they are in high school.
