RECOVERED FILES Lost names
Alright, I started a thread before trying to get people to help me with my corrupted hard drive. So, now I have all of my files off of the 250 gig harddrive that I can not open. Now I have around 2,200 avi files that all have this as an example: FILE1200.AVI, FILE299.AVI, ...etc etc.
Now my question is whether or not there is a method that would allow me to get the names of those files back. I would really hate to have togo through 2,200 files and try to rename them all. |

He didnt correctly format a drive and he put in all his videos into it. When he looked back they werent there on the drive. So he used a file retriver and he got the files though they were marked Avi file such and such. The program didnt retrive the file name.

exactly.
The drive in question had my original OS on it. Then I did a quick format (I know I know)then transferred the files to that quick formatted hard drive. Now I cannot open the hard drive or anything. I was able to pull some files but the syntax for the files were FILE1904.AVI for example. I want to see if I can recover the names of the files in question. |

Well since it didnt have a File system on it even.... I wouldn't be suprised if it didnt have the file names on it. Just Get all the same anime in a folder and go from there. And I wonder if you can find the series order by the date they were created.
